I may draw some flack for this post, however I think it needs to be said. I don't think the new ranking system that was instituted by the Admin. is a good idea. We seem to have quite a few posters here who post with nothing to say. Example: Way to go Joe... I agree with Bill... etc. These types of posts seem to have increased since the advent of the new ranking system, making me believe that some of us think there is some honor involved with reaching the higher levels. I try to keep up with the threads, but given the greater numbers of posters, and the meaningless stuff,it's a fulltime job. Now I'm sure that some industrious poster out there will find some meaningless post of mine to show I can be full of shit also. I think we should all try harder to post when we have something to say. Then again, maybe this whole post is just meaningless drivel.

It was actually supposed to be something that was all in fun, and nothing more... I hope nobody takes it to seriously...

Almost all boards / blogs etc, have ranking systems based on posts etc, I just thought I would add some levity.... Don't take it to seriously guys..

I agree with VB. It does seem to increase the number of silly posts, and I think maybe there might be the perception from new posters that someone with this "title" for posting more silly posts might actually be more "expert" than someone who posts less but actually has something to say. A new member has no way of judging, and so...

Off to the Smack Section with you! :)

A touchy topic indeed.

That could be true and not to disagree but there ARE twice as many members as last time this was brought up...?> https://costaricaticas.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=6417
Which would in theory mean twice as many smart asses now with nothing to say.
I think the site would become quite boring if members were only to post serious, pertinent CR info ALL the time and no joking or humor allowed, but also know exactly what VB is saying and certainly guilty myself of such postings with my lame attempts at humor occasionally. I've learned to speed-read or skim thru posts that don't say much or threads that don't interest me, and try to keep the silly stuff in the smack section or only aimed at members I know personally, in threads they started.
This was going on way before the ranking system so wonder if it's really a factor or not.

Damm Admin, I was hoping to win that 43' Bertram, And the Condo in SJ and Qespos.

Also I have been thinking we should throw slip fee into the barrell too.

Hope is eternal.

I agree and I think we are all guilty of it at times. BUT. And this is in relation to people who are always advising newbies to do a search. This is a limited range of topics we have here. Other than Roll Calls and Girl Reviews, what else is there new to say that hasn't been said. I went off the board for about six months and when I came back, it was many of the same old topics being rehashed. All I'm saying it is hard to think of original content sometimes.

YO Ranking Rebels:

What Ranking system? All I see is the number of posts made by that individual. Didn't know there was a superiority level in this union except for the Admin who rightfullly collects our dues. Maybe we could place a minus at the end of some posts and reduce our rank. Then again rank has it's privileges.....do what? How about free BBBJ's at ZB when we achieve a certain rank? Any possibilities of getting stripes sewed on our T-shirt sleves to signify rank? There should be basic training for new recruits joining this outfit. Jump school mandatory. I nominate V-Bob as drill instructor.....he drills with the best of them.

Hell, I'm considered as a rank individual but it doesn't get me anywhere.
Private Circus......Go to your barracks. Yes sir.

IMHO, everyone is guilty of posting things of little or no importance, myself definitely included. Whether someone posts a simple icon ( ), or a comment that is 10 paragraphs long, there will always be some people that may consider either one of these un-important or useless. Everyone perceives things on a different level.

As far as the number of posts someone has ??? Who gives a sh*t . Why do we even have to have a "post counter". It means nothing. As far as I'm concerned, keeping a running tally of posts is about as useful as the "I agree with Bill" post.

Personally, I like to keep things simple. Such as.................
If you don't like the dress code at the Prez, don't stay there.:!:
If you don't like the single/double thing at Kamur, don't go there.:!:
If you don't like chica's asking cien, don't pay it. :!:
If you don't want to get mugged at night, don't walk thru the park.:!:
If you don't like the prices at a certain restaurant, don't eat there.:!:
If you don't like the chica's at a certain MP, don't session there.:!:
If you don't like short, useless posts, don't read them.:!:

No rocket science here......

By the way, I just saved a boat-load of money on my insurance by switching to GIECO. :o

Respectfully,
Mucho Gusto :?
