Just getting ready to travel over Turkey Day and wondering whether to use the Interbus website or just suck it up and pay in cash as Interbus requires your CC number and code and I am not sure I wabnt to have that sitting on a server in the CR. Any thoughts?

Yes - best advice you are going to get today :) :P

Take the bus - not Interbus, but the one out in front of the airport - walk outside, look for the bus stop out in front on the right - ask the driver "directo a San Jose" b/c some of the busses' make a stop in Alajuala first. They leave approx every 20 min's

The bus was fast and drops you at a terminal - not the CocaCola - and you take a short taxi ride to your hotel - total cost from airport to Morazon for me a couple of months ago was under $3 - and you don't have to worry about credit cards, reservations, waiting for some jackoff to get his luggage before Interbus can leave - you get the point.

I'm not a bus guy in general, but by the time you give a tip or two, Interbus is like $15 - the tico bus/taxi to your hotel is fast and at $3 all in, price can't be beat.

Like the old commercial went "try it, you'll like it"

You can book Interbus on this site: http://www.shuttlebus.co.cr/website/sho ... /index.php

You can use Paypal there, so don't have to give CC info to the vendor and you also get a small (5%?) discount too. $12 ride each way, costs $11.40 on this site. I have used them a bunch of times.

I have used the interbus website many times, and have never had a problem.

You'll get 50% of of transfer out (hotel to airport) at the checkout if you use their "special offer super promo" booking both ways. Total would be $18.

I used the interbus website once & had $600 in charges put on my credit card for online gambling sites. I don't gamble at all, either online or in person.

I have used it several times, but the last time the website charged me for 4 trips on the same day. I had a hell of a time getting a refund, and never did get it all back. Plus, by the time they dicked around calling the bus at the airport and waiting for the other passengers it is really not worth it. The last time I was there I caught a taxi for $20 and I was in my hotel room in 1/5 the time of interbus. One time I swear that the interbus had only one cylinder, I wanted to get out and push, and I was the only passenger.

I used this too, worked fine for my trip to Jaco. Took the regular bus back from Jaco to SJ, arrived at the Coca Cola terminal in the morning, and there were lots of regular taxis available. Felt very safe to me in the daytime. When I arrived in SJ I had the Dunn Inn driver pick me up. He waited for me while I went up into Departures to change money, and pay my departure tax. Everything was smooth and easy.

Used that site to book both my airport shuttles and my trip to and from playa hermosa/jaco. I liked paying with paypal. And had no issues with the transportation they were always right on time and greeted me by name, oddly even saying my last name right which nobody in the states can do. Will use them again for sure

Did not see the option to pay via Paypal and I would highly recommend NOT paying thru their website as they want the 3 digit code and with that info it takes little to produce a duplicate copy of your CC. Screw them. :!: :!: I will take a cab, the bus option is too risky, it just takes one on the ball thief to relieve you of all your money and documents; I am cheap, but security should always trump cheapness. :!:

They do have paypal option available now but i guess they have to lump 4/5 passengers together to make it worthwhile so one may end up spending at least 10-30 mins extra, considering some passengers need to be dropped off on the way.
Has anyone used them recently though?

Just got back from my first trip to SJ. Took the ticobus/taxi to hotel, did the reverse on the way out. No problems and it was fast and efficient. If a newbie can do it anybody can.

cheers,
Attila
