Ed Hardy shirt, shorts, black socks and a Boston cap you'll fit right in.

Paco - Most will not know who/the thread to which you are refering! I do - who was the ahem, CRT "member" in question! It was a great thread!
Seriously, lots of good points made lately re blending in - Orange, Pax others are correct - most will not be mistaken for a tico, and thats really not the intent - if guys would dress a little more appropriately, whether walking on the street, or dining out, most of the problems would be solved ( a fish shirt, shorts, ugly sandles - just screams asshole) - if they acted better - oh wait - one issue at a time

JULY 10 I posted about "blending in" as far as being mistaken for a tico I'm too tall ,maybe a cuban,

it was my point that being less conspicious lessens you as target when walking around downtown particularly at night. I remember someone was robbed at knife point in front of the NY Bar several years ago? He was wearing a gold chain and hawian style shirt?
When I started travelling to CR about 20 years ago I was given a
lot advise by my friend who lived down there, one bit of advise was "look how the men dress then you try and dress in the same manner, " don't stick out as a tourist. You'll be selected as a target for pickpockets ,,,robberies.
SO Far other then getting the gringo price I've been lucky as far as crime goes. However most of my friends have been victims of pickpockets and snatch and grabb type robberies, along with the police shake down.
Every one has the right to dress as they choose, I feel more comfortable following my deceased friends advise, he never lead me wrong.
