Ah, I guess I'll have to miss it, I arrive in CR on 4/8 and have plans. Next year for sure I will try to make it there!

Do I get one with one of them built in ice boxes and a Chica of the month as my personal server dressed in a school girls outfit? Sorry I couldn't resist and of course I will stay with you and smoke where I have to. Thanks for not taking my quirky post to serious!

Love ya Bill you set the bar pretty high for your competition bro!

I have a box of ten. The box is enclosed in black velvet with gold emblem. The box itself is gleaming black and the whole top is squares of inlaid mother of pearl, again with gold emblem and finishes. So it depends on how many you want, or all 10.

I have some so I know they are Beautiful and the box is amazing, you sure hate saying a price it's like pulling teeth LOL no offense intended. Thanks anyway!

For those that haven't tried them they are pretty good they come in boxes of ten and are roughly $375-$450 depending on size and box code. Of course you can pay much more LOL

I do look forward to seeing what Boyd and you have done and trying some of what both of you have to offer :)

Dave

Jesus, Dave, you read my mind; I was thinking the exact same thing :)  -
Java, its OK to mention a price every now and then -

I'm not a buyer for any cigar (mostly.... ) much above $10/per - so it does not matter to me (and if I am, its probably going to be a Padron 1926 Maduro, a Padron Millenium, or the new padron they recently came out with - the one w/ the hammer on the label) - I'm looking to get down to CR in May; wish you were down then too Dave.

I know I'll just have to plan on spending lots of time at HLH - in the cigar room, of course  :)

I recently had the opportunity to spend some time w/ Javaman (Bruce) and Don Ursulo at HLH - very good, sharp guys BTW - enjoyed talking with both of them.

In short, great place - reminds me of a cigar store/lounge here in Miami - great place to sit, smoke, and talk - plus the bar at HLH is steps away
(Speaking of the bar area, I also met Boyd - really great guy and very helpful - understand why so many on the board like him and why he gets so much positive feedback :) )

Anyway, as I've posted in the past, Cuban cigars just don't do it for me - HLH has a selection, and the prices are in line but for a decent ring gage cigar I'm not paying $20+++ - anywhere - however.......

Don Ursulo has a line of cigars which are superb - really excellent - he has basically 2 lines, rolled in CR- one is more mild, the other has more ligero, making it fuller, stronger - very good cigar, especially the construction - its $10/stick and very good - I bought a few to take back. (He even has a secret ingedient - I've been sworn to secrecry, but PM me if you want to know what it is  hint - has nothing to do with being rolled on the thighs of virgins, which are likely in short supply at HLH anyway  :P  )

God knows I've searched  - in the SJ area, there is no better option (the Casa de Habano that was in the San Pedro area has closed; plus all they sold there were Cubans).

(SJ and CR in short are not paradise when it comes to buying cigars b/c of the stupid import taxes - I think Bruce told me like 110% - and most of the domestic "brands" are awful, their market being the visitor who would not know a real cigar from a dog turd - digression - I'm at HLH and this guy comes in looking for a "flavored" cigar - I told him they don't have any; and for christ sakes, smoke something decent - vast majority of flavored cigars suck b/c they use glycerine to flavor otherwise inferior tobacco - the "Acid" line by Drew Estate, has its fans - not me - but always reminded me of how a dorm room occupied by 3 black guys smelled way back in my college days - combo of insense, pot, and other odors - not bad; just distinct!   )

Thanks Bruce and Urs and hopfully see you late September! :)

getting back to basics, Scuba and other brothers, what is your opinion on BOLIVAR LIBERTADOR?

Can't say as I've never had one - but if its a Cuban Bolivar, I'd love to try one next time I'm in CR (hint hint  :) )

Unless you are going to give me one, you are just teasing me, Bruce  :P

I'll be down Sept 22 - 27, and look forward to many afternoons smoking with you while I'm down - your place has it all, if you know what I mean

Want to get more of the Don Ursulos made in CR w/ the "special" blend - they were excellent - do you guys take credit cards now - if not will you be set up to do so by the time I'm down?

I took over the Humidor Room at HLH 3 weeks ago. I have better than what you were smoking. Every customer who has had them raves. One is Cuban long filler and binder, $7 a stick for a torpedo as an example. Also have beautiful maduros in 3 sizes. The largest being a 6X60 for $10. Interesting and excellent Peruvian long filler in all sizes but to give you and example, a robusto $6.
Prices have come way down on all Habanos. A real emphasis on special editions that you may not have seen. Of course we are a licensed dealer. No credit cards anytime soon, but your cash will work fine.
I will also have Padrons.

I'll try to drop by tomorrow and check out your cigars. As for Padrons, I love most Nicaraguan cigars but Padrons have a bad taste for me. Go figure.

Look forward to smoking 'em - the ones I smoked in May were excellent; if these are better, wonderful! (And yes, you will have Padron's!! :P  )

K Pax - have you smoked the Padron 1926 Maduro? I don't like their "regular" (read sensibly priced  ) line but think the 1926 is the finest cigar on the planet!

You may be better off if you don't like it  - its like $14 - 26 per - most times $18 - 20 but its a great cigar.

Pax - I'll be in SJO Sept 22 - 27 - lets meet at HLH and smoke (a lot!!!) :)

Smelvis; I assume you are following this thread - and chance you will be in SJO those dates? See if it works for you and hope your back is feeling better.

I love the 1926 and 1964 Padrons but they are outside my daily smoking budget. I enjoy one from time to time. Their regular line leaves a bad aftertaste in my mouth though. Plus, I love the cigarillos they make, they're very big for cigarillos, but I love them a lot less since they jacked the price way up two years ago. It wasn't taxes, they just figured out they could get more money for them, but not from me.

So now I smoke the La Aroma de Cuba cigarillos - just as big, almost as good and half the price.

Sorry Scuba but I return to the USA for about one week on 9/24 - so I may be able to meet up with you right before I go but then I'll be gone. Won't be back until 10/2 or so.
