And for those who are relatively new to this board and have no knowledge of Irate Drifter's trolling habits  this idiotic argument with Icantstayaway for no logical reason is just the latest of a hundred or so similar attacks against contributing members. It must suck to live in CR and have nothing better to do than start petty arguments and twist words around in lame attempts to make yourself look smart on a discussion board. CVCap may be a jerk but 99.3% of members polled do agree with this-

Thank you. I am not here to fight with anyone and am happy to explain anything I say to any extent almost without exception.

If ID took offense with my comment, I wished he would have asked me to explain or elaborate in a polite fasion. I really don't think we are that far appart in our opinions and even if we are, a good civil conversation is usually beneficial for everyone.

P.S. It was good to see you and I'm glad to see you back in Men's clothing.

First it was Ticos and now it is the men and women who proudly serve the United States by being members of the military service. He seems to ignore the fact that while the Constitution gave him the right of free speech which he uses to denigrate people it is the soldier who guarantees that right.

What is particularly upsetting is the timing of his insult to the men and women of the armed service. The day we honor those who gave their lives in defense of jerks like CVCap was just 3 days ago.

Again, STFU ID. Stop trying to dramatize everything.

Ok This is completely and utterly out of hand. How a conversation regarding Chubbs and their presentation of food and services turns into a free for all with once again I can't repeat it enough too many members chiming in with nothing whatsoever positive to add other than to have an argument that takes over a particular thread.

I know I'm as tired as anyone of seeing the same members hijack threads. I get it in PM's, Emails, Hear about it when I'm in Costa Rica or at Chapter meetings.. Gentlemen NOBODY IS TOO BIG FOR THIS BOARD... 10 Posts or 5K plus posts it does not matter. I am TIRED OF THIS CHILDISH NONSENSE.

Leave your own Attacks at the door. I refuse to allow people to think they can simply run roughshod over everything. Any further violations within this thread or others with the same participants will result in all of you finding the door kicking you in the ass on the way out.

Wings were good Bigdan! :D The place does have a good atmosphere to me and always enjoy chatting with the lovely Jessica. Read that I said "chat". Don't anyone take this as an excuse to switch to the old bagging a bartender subject.

You should be able to comment without people reading an entire soap opera into your small post. And yes, I have witnessed that Jessica has many fans as many bartenders do. I had several in Atlanta at different places at different times without any thought of 'bagging'. Back in the day, one of them would take calls for me and have messages waiting for me. I'm kind of fond of those days before 'being connected 24/7/365.

I remember Jessica from my first visits to the Blue Marlin. I was a little overwhelmed by it all and she and Cristina spoke fluent English so I landed at their bar between trips up the elevator, as I didn't know what was outside the Del Rey doors and really didn't care. She has quite a few regulars that bring her gifts, buy her lunch, etc. Friends, clients, guest, customers, whatever. I mean that is her business -bartender, listener, 'psychologist', and for some, eye candy

I remember one guy telling me that she gave him the name for his boat.

As far as Chubbs goes, It is different at different times. There is the normal bar flys, expats, and tourist, during the day. At night, well, last night is was about half Ticos and half Gringos,

As I said in a previous post many, some, or at least one, but not every night, this place is beyond occupancy with Ticos at 90% of the tables and a few or many gringos at the bar.

Greg the owner is a nice approachable guy, If you have a suggestion, I have found him to be all ears. I am happy for his success or the appearance of success.

Icantstayaway, I miss the days of good old bartenders that had all of the skills you mentioned. When I was travelling around a lot, the first thing I would do when I got to a new city was find a good bar and get my info from the local bartender.

My feelings exactly. When I was in Quepos last August, a Gringa about 24 years old was tending bar at Bogarts, which is on a corner near the beach downtown. Apparently, it was her first night. I ordered a Ron Centenario and Coca Cola Light. She asked me to repeat it, then asked me what Ron Centenario was! I thought she was joking. I finally had to tell her it was Costa Rican rum. Then she proceeded to screw up some other customers cocktails so bad that they had to send them back. At that point, the manager took over. Incredible.

The SL wings looked very good. Large wings with buffalo sauce and celery. It occurred to me though that there isn't ranch dressing down here. I'll wait for my place back home.
