Check out the "Trusted Traveller" and the "Global Entry" programs.

Signed up with GE and it has already saved me dozens of hours getting through immigration/customs on my last three trips.

I've heard nothing but positives about "Global Entry" from the people I know who joined the program. I believe all the international airports in the US have GE kiosks now.

Ok you will now-- AT MIA they mix the cattle with us more the equal Global Entry Travelers in the same line. So it takes the same amount of time. I mentioned this to the nice man who checked my pass port. He told me to just go to the head of the line and use the machine, then walk through showing the slip the machine spits out.

Now while this may be the way, jumping places in line seems to be 1) not American 2) usually gets someone mad 3) In official lines, draws unwanted attention to one self from the line managers . ie the people with the guns. But the nice guy told me that s the way it is, so this July I will do it that way- line jumping, and then he told me to report to Room 101-- dont complain about procedures while in line!!  -- which was a farce, walked in no one talked to me just told to put stuff on x-ray machine - went though picked my stuff and walked out holding the custom form in front of my self. In the mean time they were goign though every one stuff with a fine took comb..

But work slick in IAH where they had separate line for crew and Global entry people.

Thanks Iguana, Blue, and X :)
I will check it out

PS To X man - you are giving away your Midwest politeness; jumping a line after I went through the program and paid the fee for one of the options mentioned would not cause me one nano second of consternation    -
Living in Miami, why would it NOT surprise me that MIA had the phucked up proceedure mentioned?
I lived in Peoria 7 years; great people; lousy weather!

As of late November, 2010, Charlotte (CLT) did not have Global Entry kiosks.

With CLT being a US Airways major hub with International arrivals, surprised me that they did not have Global Entry kiosks. So unless you know for sure, still take the Declaration Form that the flight attendants hand out.

I'm a GE traveler and I fly into MIA -- concourse D, E and J -- frequently. I'm not sure what you meant by your post, but at MIA GE travelers don't have to wait in line unless the kiosks are out of order (which I've never seen happen).

Once you get arrive in the immigration area (before the lines) there are 4 or more GE kiosks scattered around. In Concourse E they're located to your right as you walk into the immigration area.

You go to one, do the picture/fingerprintscan/questionnaire thing, get your receipt, then proceed to the same line the airline crews use, show your receipt to the agent, then go to baggage claim. No waiting in line. Takes 60 seconds.

On some occasions I have seen agents divert arriving passengers into a secondary entry processing area which doesn't have GE kiosks. If that happens to you, just show the agent your GE stamp and tell them you want to use a kiosk. They'll wave you through the main area where the kiosks are.

!

I agree about MIA and Miami being phucked up in general, but the entry procedure for GE travelers isn't one of them.

haha Just looking at the title of the thread "Don't complain about Security when in Line or ELSE!!!". Anybody that doesn't have any better sense than the Phuck around in the airport in this day and age pretty much deserves the royal treatment of pants down and the snap of the dreaded plastic glove. :D

We've been taking it in the ass from our gov't for decades now, it is just that people are starting to acknowledge it. I do my little routine to get myself through airports in the fastest, most efficient way possible. And like you I have denounced all allegiances to any soil...

Gentlemen:
There is some worth wild information within this thread regarding travel, but we will not allow the Politics, complaints and other malicious rants to overtake what for the most part is a valuable thread.

I ASK THIS no I DEMAND this be kept within the confines or the rules of the forum. Any further rants on the political side will be dealt with harshly.... ENOUGH SAID KEEP THE POLITICS OUT OF IT and without question KEEP the personal attacks out as well.

Global Entry: http://www.globalentry.gov/ is working VERY nicely for this boy.

https://goes-app.cbp.dhs.gov/ well worth the money and THANKS! to VIP member Western for hooking me up with the process.

$100.00 application fee http://www.globalentry.gov/applicationfees.html and once accepted, good for FIVE years..... (If you're a RUMMY.....expect the 3rd degree and basically forget about it)....; pays to be a choir boy (!!!!!)!!!!

I use Global Entry at Miami and they have two Kiosks just as you enter the Main Immigrations area... If you are coming from some of the further terminals they attempt to route American Citizens to a few lines before the main Immigration which is find but for Global Entry USE THE KIOSKS are ask the agents where they are... It kicks out the slip which you then use to buypass all the lines direct to Customs.

If you carry on like I do, I'm usually through Immigration and customs in less than 3 minutes from the time I hit the Kiosk and they tend to breeze you through customs if you have the slip from the Kiosk... Just my experiences.

A comment on Global Entry.

I joined the NEXUS program first (for entering Canada). It was only $50. Then I joined the Global Entry program via the internet. New appllication though it was already pretty well filled out. Within two days I was enrolled in ther GE plan & never paid a penney more.
