Here is a link to the Health Department report, including pictures, of what they found at Cafe Mundo.
Thanks ID...good find! Translating the high points for the amusement of the brotherhood...
1) Workers remodeling the kitchen area did not have any barriers between the construction and the food prep areas resulting in filth (especially dust) on walls, floors and food prep surfaces.
2) The construction people use same spaces as kitchen staff, risking contamination.
3) Holes in the floor, roof and walls
4) Many of the surfaces are not washable or can not be sanitized.
5) Standing water in many areas, including the bakery part.
6) There are refrigerators in the construction area with no separation from workers or materials, just enough space to open the doors.
7) Found food refrigerators where they had raw food, cooked food and other things all mixed together, risking contamination.
8- Trash cans in the kitchen don't have foot-operated lids, risking contamination.
9) Found vegetables in direct contact with the floor, risking contamination.
10) Found the metal serving trays just sitting on the floor, risking contamination.
11) Not following proper food prep laws for example one worker was preparing food wearing earrings.
12) The area where they keep the trash is the same area where raw food is stored like onions and lettuce, risking contamination.
13) There are alcoholic beverages stored with cleaning chemicals, risking contamination.
14) Found a fire extinguisher on the floor in a food prep area, not within the law.
Then goes into conclusions and the recommendation they should be closed until they are in compliance with the laws detailed in the report that they are in violation of at this point.
