Understood,...the thing is, you dont disrespect a business because your anal,...I think everyone who reads this can see,..SportsMens Lodge is a wonderful place,.and we are all happy those guy's are there. To headline a post that it sucks, because you have one bad night is over the top. I met Bill and Gary briefly, I had no need to as everything was excellent on my visit. Dont like the "free", continental breakfast?,...buy the country breakfast, wonderful!...I will stay there again.

IMHO if your one to hit the room fairly early, or tend to have a quiet lifestyle adjust yourself so you avoid those type of settings. Stay in a hotel that isn't littered with drunk mongers and their lady of the night in tow. Pick a room thats off the beaten path so to avoid people trekking in/out at awkward hours.

The tree-huggers are in bed by 10pm to wake up at 5am for their eco-tour pick up and be well-rested.

If you book Holiday Inn on Travelocity in advance, those rooms can be had for 40 dollars a night and they are very nice, superb!....However, 75.00 chica fee, but you will sleep well without those pesky humans,...talking after getting off work, you know, living their life, infringing on yours....HMMMmmmm, ...I wonder......

Thread title... "SL Courtyard Sucks... Avoid it." Poster shares valuable information as to what room or rooms have a noise problem. CRT is about information. Poster is castigated for opinion. Hell raisers after midnight take offense.

Moral of the story... "Don't post valuable information".

Well its not exactly like that either Berk..

As adults we must understand the derivation of "valuable information".. The fact the original poster has never stayed in another part of the hotel makes that info at least a little skewed..

After a few exchanges the poster somewhat capitulated and from there some "real" valuable info was distributed... It’s all a matter of how you look at things in general

"The beds are also very uncomfortable"

This one`s a surprise however subjective opinions can go either way on these issues. ALL the rooms have new Jiron Platinum mattresses, they are all free standing beds...no bed frames just sitting up against the wall. Not to mention everyroom in the Hotel has a Brand New Panasonic or Samsung Flat screen TV. The Courtyard rooms which make up 8 of our 30 rooms can be noisy night and day, we will speak to security "once again" to keep it down in there at night. I apologize to Muledick for his bad experience at SL.

Bill

Interesting how everyone is different when it comes to sleeping. I have always liked sleeping with noise. Stayed in the courtyard several times years back. A couple of times stayed in the one closest to the bar. I was so hung over on a superbowl Sunday that I just lay in bed and listened to the party.. :D

I too at one time, could be awakened easily, then, after 6 months of sleeping two decks below the forward cats on the USS America, (aircraft carrier),...I now have no problem sleeping soundly.

Based on that comment, you would have no problem with mongers using "gringa" or "Americana" in Miami or Las Vegas as a synonym for "hooker". Or "mexicana" in TJ. Or "paisa" in MDE.

While I have no issue with mongers demonstrating ignorance by referring to hookers as "ticas", I keep clarifying the term -- and will continue to do so when I see it misused -- so I don't see another gringo get into an altercation with a bunch of locals because he kept asking them where he could find "ticas.... you know, the whores".

Besides, it's incredibly disrespectful.

As a person who is lucky to get 4 hrs of sleep a night I never slept better than I did at the SL. I had PAZ, the room right next to the desk in the lobby area. I slept great. I got at least 7 hrs of sleep a night. I guess I did so much during the day that by the time I hit the rack at night I was so tired that sleeping was never a problem. The bed was super comfortable and the only concern I had was the girls making too much noise and attracting the people in the lobby outside the room. After a while I said to hell with that and decided to see how much noise I could get out of them. Bill is a great host and I would always go to him first with any problem before I posted it as a complaint on the site.
