I really would like to fly back and forth from San Jose to Liberia, but very skeptical about flying in a 3rd world aircraft (Nature Airlines found on this site). Aircraft safety usually isn't a well regulated industry or high priority in many of these countries around the world. Can you guys reassure me that this is a safe method in Costa Rica? Or, give me a better method (airline) with which the experience you felt safe and trusted?
Welcome.
I can understand your concerns about flying within CR. I had the same concerns, but it is safe. Both Nature Air and Sansa have good safety records.
I have flown about 6-8 times and CRT member Mucho Gusto has flown probably over 30 times, I'm sure he'll chime in here since he's also the resident expert on Flamingo. I have not heard of any issues since I've been going for the past 3-4 years.
Btw, you are MUCH safer in the air than on the streets below. I'm pretty sure that the number one cause of death (besides old age) in CR is car accidents.
