During my last trip to C.R. I was hustled for food far more often than drinks. <insert El Ciego Dates Fat Chicks joke here>
At SL last year, I encountered little nica Jackie. She had a shadow named Luz-Marina. Before I knew I had done it, I had bought both of them a modest meal; tortilla soup for Jackie, a quesadilla for Luzi, which she shared with me. No big deal.
If I'm doing the GFE thing, dinner, drinks and other expenses might become part of the deal. That's fine, if I'm the one making the offer.
I was in KL my last night, flirting/chatting with Russian Valeria. She drinks Chivas.

After her second $8.00 drink within fifteen minutes, I told her that her tastes were too elegant for me. She switched to bottled water, and we had a lovely hour together while my tico pal did his business at the Hotel Europa.
I find that, just as I'd do in the States, that I can and do control how many drinks and what type I buy for the girl.
Often, I make the first move, inviting her to a beer. If she counters with, "No gracias, no tomo cerveza sino Bailey's..." I might laugh and call her "Princessa." That usually works, and they'll order a beer or well drink.
About chica drinks in strip clubs: At Arkada, a woman with whom I'd sessioned joined me. I bought her a drink, and when it arrived at the table she insisted I taste it. It was a nicely poured shot of Centennario...no substitutions. Has anybody tasted the "vino tinto" often selected by the chicas at Bar Idem? I'd bet a session at Muses that the girls are drinking grape juice or KoolAid.
Yes, be nice. If it's a party and you know you'll eventually bang her, go ahead and buy the drinks. Otherwise, it's up to you...and don't be a sucker.
