Wit , I can tell you from experience what happens to some of them. They have daughters who come of age and take mommy's place as the family provider. I have actually been there when the guilt trip phone calls came in. Mom whining to daughter about coming home with $ for food , rent or utility bill. By the time many of the daughters turn 18 it has already been drilled into their skulls that taking care of lazy brothers , grand parents and 40-year old retired mom is her responsibility.

Yep I have seen that sad scenario too many times. And the girl does not necessarily like the responsibility of having to work for the brother and the rent(i.e. they lament that they tried to quit but then the utilities are due mom calls with the guilt call etc). 40-45 year old retired mom is about right. Pretty much that whole quote is spot on.

Watch out ID is going to come soon now and tell you that just isnt so, you are wrong, you must be lying.

Actually I do know of exactly one that married a gringo, went back to states, learned English and went to school. Last I heard they were still together, both working and doing better than just OK. It can happen but it doesn't very often. But to do that she had to pretty much break with her family back in America Latina.

Sadly, a lot of them really feel that they are responsible for a family that does damn little to help them. I have a favorita that is supporting both parents, a son and gawd knows who else back in Colombia, they are sucking her life out. She understands that but thinks its her duty to be exploited as long as its by family.

So instead of receiving a RFM from her, he now gets one from the family!!

A pleasant and very attractive girl I know who worked the NY bar came by to say hello (no sexo) today. As she was leaving I said 'hasta luego' and she said she won't be going to the NY bar anymore. I asked why. She said she has a gringo sending her money now.
