Ruff I couldn't agree with you more on your post. We all of course have different wants & needs but what you posted I feel is for the majority of us out here. It is strange how we seem to be hard wired. We tend to crave the impossible. We want that loving fulfilling relationship that goes way beyond just the sexual part but then we also like that inevitable rush of touching something new & the excitement of the hunt.

The best life I have seen is when you can arrange both & cycle back & forth since one makes you appreciate the other & round & round it goes as we finish life under a six foot hole :? . Each has its place & one is just different than the other while both seem to be the best of all. Just have to be cool & keep them totally separate IMHO  .

This is a very interesting post and right in-line with my current situation. It should almost be called "Evolution of a Monger"... although I think that title may already been used in a previous post.

To say that CR has changed my life is a huge understatement. In the spring, I packed all my crap into storage and sold my house, and I have been living here for several months.

(You can refer to my other post about my 3 month experiment for further reference. I also plan to write much more about the move and adjustment under a much larger post)

Anyway... I started developing a plan that included a separate residence/existence in CR about a year ago. As is normal, plans change and nothing turned out as it would seem... I'll try cover some monger-related observations in this post. The other stuff is just too much for a single post. I have learned so much as a result of living here. When you get older and look back... You regret the things you DIDN'T DO... not the things you DID DO.

Concerning the monger scene... well my plan definiitely changed!!! I ended up meeting a tica last spring and was in a somewhat monogamous for most of my time here. Not part of my PLAN!!!! My plan was to move down here, bang chicas like crazy, and then settle down with one with maybe a few on the side. You know.. the latino lifestyle. Instead... I moved here already in a relationship with a novia... and have pretty much been stuck in drama the whole time. We just broke it off for good. I have also meet several other non p4p ladies, so I really haven't been paying for much sex. If you have game... you can pick-em up pretty much anywhere in CR. THEY ARE EASY!!!

But, living here has TOTALLY changed my perspective on mongering. I really don't have the passion or desire to pay for sex as in my younger years. And, I keep scratching my head and wondering why... why... why???? I think the answer is three-fold:

1. Its too friggin' easy. I can get most any chica to come back to my house at a price which is well below market. Its a simple negotiation and a little bit of trust. They know I live her and they all seem to trust me. I feel that I'm almost as much of a pro as they are. I had a girl come home with me Saturday night from Key Largo. We never negotiated price. We stayed up and smoked and watched the Munster's in Spanish... which had us in stitches. We had mucho sex. When I woke up... she wasn't in a rush and didn't ask for money...

2. The sex can be boring. When you can get it at any time... without just about any little hot chica you want... its like a commodity. In addition, my fanatasies have all been realized. I'VE DONE EVERYTHING THAT I THOUGHT I'D NEVER DO IN BED. I'VE PHUCKED JUST ABOUT EVERY DIFFERENT BODY TYPE, HAIR COLOR AND EYE COLOR COMBINATION that I can think of. My sexual fantasies have all been realized. I've phucked her in position X with her arms and legs in position Y and Z. I've sessioned with multiple chicas. I've nailed her in the ass while playing loud heavy metal music. There's not much left. Ohh... wait... I have a new one. There is a certain bar tender that has offered me a cleaning service in my house on a weekly basis. She was a little bit pricey at $20 and I asked her why it was so high. She said it included a little sex service beforehand. So... I guess I have this new fantasy of being woken up by my maid... getting a great blow job... then watching her scrub my kitchen floor naked on her hands and knees. Okay... I'm going to call her today and have her come over tomorrow. Its that phucking easy. NEXT!!!

3. I don't REALLY want to phuck a girl unless she REALLY wants to phuck me. I'm tired of watching her stare off into the ceiling and then when you catch her eyes... she quickly musters-up a fake moan. I've had this happen twice and I almost lost my boner. I don't blame them. They HAVE TO GET TIRED OF IT. Okay... maybe not the ZB chicas... but you get my point. I want a little challenge and i little bit of passion in the cama.

So... here's the latest twist in my plans. I MET A GRINGA... Yeah... thats right... you heard it. I MET A FRIGGIN' GRINGA IN CR and I think I like her. I'm surrounded by lovely latinas, who are fighting for my leche,.. and a young gringa has sort of stolen my heart. Call me stupid???? She actually is a refreshing break from the chicas to be honest. She is a little hottie and we can actually speak at the same intellectual level. Its a nice change. I'm tired of asking girls "hard" questions like "Who was the last president?" or "What year did CR become independent from Spain?" And getting a glazed look of confusion and a "No se" or "Por-que papacito?". I'm tired of picturing that small, but very powerful, cluster of cells in their brain that is constantly spinning and calculating how much money they can harvest from your bank account. I'm craving something a little more intellectual. I'm phucking tired of listening to their endless stories of survival and their superficial drama stories accompanied by crocodile tears.

There you have it. Please stand by.

Okay - the manager has decided it's time for a pitching change - coming in for Chi-Trekker, #69....GETTTT RHYHMMMM....

Great post my friend, but methinks the monger doth protest too much. Yes, I'm sure it can all seem a bit superficial and even a bit dull after you've seen it all and done it all - until you stop and think for a minute and compare it to life back here - and dealing with gringas in the States. Hey - doesn't seem so bad now, does it?

Anyway bro - we're going to have a good ole' time next week - you can count on that!

GR - there is good and bad in living in both the US and CR. We'll chat about it when you get here.

BTW... I've got several new recommended chicas for you. But since this trip is on a tighter budget, I'll got to Mas X Menos and hand-pick some Ompa Lumpas that will phuck for $5. :P They'll be waiting at the airport... holding a sign that says "Sexy Bitch #69"

Deal?

Chi_trekker's post is the exact reason most guys after moving to CR in less than one year are all gulched out. It is such a dramatic change from the overly difficult frustrated USA to becoming way too easy. Some where in the middle it seems would be nice like challenging plus rewarding.

There is a ton of challenge in CR you just have to go out & find it. Not all Ticas are unsophisticated & easy believe me. You just have to set your sights different & locate these. The good thing for me it is all there & the main thing is you can get a Tica that will look into your eyes & not at the wall anytime you want.

Thanks for sharing your findings & info, it is valuable for many I feel. Decisions :? :P ?

Chi-trekker...I applaud your honesty and respect your position on this issue. I think MANY of us on this board when push came to shove would choose a real heartfelt relationship where we can communicate more than beyond the basics and even "mind Phuck" each other  . Hard to do when you cant talk to any depth. Sure, a lot of guys here have no interest in "talking" or having a significant other. Too burnt out on relationships that went bad, or self protective of space and privacy. But I very much relate to your position and ended up largely feeling similar to you after living in San Jose for a while. Of course, I didnt go so far as to hook up with a gringa...LOL...but hey, I have seen some gringas in San Jose that I would have taken for a ride if the situation presented itself. So...dont be bashful, to thine own self be true...and good luck in this adventure.

I also think the "syndrome" you describe is similar to the reactions of "Mexpat" when he lived down here...

I want to say 'amen' to chi-trekker.' I have been here for 2 years and feel a lot of the same things, though I haven't gone the novia route yet.

ON THE OTHER HAND... I can't see myself moving back to the States. When I think of the life I led there... There's just no way that the small disappointments here are ANYTHING like the major boredom back home. A quote from Woody Allen's 'Love and Death':
Sonja: Sex without love is an empty experience!
Boris: Yes, but as empty experiences go, it's one of the best!

And then, there's the old bumper sticker: The worst day fishing is better than the best day working. Substitute 'in Costa Rica' for fishing and 'in the USA' for 'working' and there you have it.

And amen to Bilko...

Though not ever having lived there, I'm sure I'm talking out of my ass a bit here, but I would venture to say that like anything good in life, the key is to pace onesself. When I'm down there on a short mongering trip, it's natural to want to fit in as much debauchery as possible in the little time I have, but if living there, would I ever want to do four sessions in a day? I doubt it. Maybe not even in a week. Would I hit Kamur and Pantera Rosa twice in a week, or ZB every day? Nope - can't see it.

I would still want to have a fairly balanced lifestyle - involving exercise, sports, watching the games with buddies at Sportsmen's or the Presidente, checking out the local music scene, hitting some dance clubs, a little gambling, some cultural pursuits, and maybe heading out on a motorcycle to tour around the country every few weeks. And the great thing is - when you want the sex, it's there AND it's easy. I could even see getting involved in a relationship again at some point in the future - but only if she's over 25 this time...

GR - If you want balance in your life, I don't recommend moving down here. Exercise is easy enough, but San Jose is NOT a city that is booming with culture and activities.

There are MANY, MANY, MANY washed-up and down-and-out gringos living here. They've been swept up with the tide of debauchery and are probably living day to day, with whatever money they can scrape-up. I see them all the time. Usually, they are extremely drunk and they always seem to have some big-money deal in the works. You know the story.... cigar plantation in the mountains.... hotel on the beach. In every case, the story always ends with "I need investors. I just need some more money."

When someone down here hands me a business card... and talks about ALL THE MONEY they are about to make... I just kind of inwardly laugh. I scratch my head and think "this guy doesn't know me from Adam and, in the first five minutes of meeting, he is bragging about his big money deal." If you have money, unless you've never had any money before, there is no need to brag about it. It makes you sound like a poor trashy lottery winner. And, if you are about to make big money, why the phuck would you want anyone to know... especially down here???

This is reality buddy. Very few people come down here to work. You need money BEFORE you move down. Most investments that I hear about are failures. I would venture to guess that perhaps 1 in 10 investments ever work out.

Okay.... on the upside. CHICAS ARE EVERYWHERE. Now.... if you are a fat obnoxious slob and don't take care of yourself... THEY AREN'T ALL AVAILABLE. I also laugh when I hear or see the old, fat gringos that think they can pick up any chica in CR. Hmmm.... let me provide some insight.... If she is young and hot and you are NOT... she's after your wallet.  8)

Okay... I'm stepping off the soap box.

Bilko,

I will confirm your findings 100% I see it every trip. Actually what a terribly sad story & disastor for most Gringos I see living there. I can count on a few fingers how one could make a decent living their & it is not that easy.

What a broken record it is & no wonder the brothers cleaned up on the Gringos  ! All you have to do is look at your surroundings. This is why I am so careful with who I know since I am only there to have fun & not be leaned on.

CR is a retirement place to me & even at that count me out :? . YMMV :P ! Don't get me wrong I do love CR but it has its place & time sphincter slot too me. I know it has worked very well for Irish Drifter & Vegas Bob to name a few that I respect their judgement but we all have different agendas
