A few more things.....

Some of you guys always praise the many freedoms americans enjoy...but when someone exercises those freedoms(speaking out against the government) you guys cry foul.

And when those cherished freedoms are taken away you guys are quiet or actually support the removal of said freedoms.

I don't get the rational or logic of those attitudes.

A long honored american tradition has been to be critical and question our government. Our country was founded based on those principals. Alas in the present atmosphere of intolerance and fear mongering this tradition is being stifled for political reasons. Many of our most cherished freedoms and values are being lost, one by one with barely a whimper of protest. What have we become as a nation because of 9/11?

The hollywood stars have every right as americans to express their views whether you like it or not. That is america.

Your point is taken. I disagree with it and believe you did not understand mine. So be it.

Ask my father when he came back from Vietnam and had people in San Diego throw rotten fruits and vegtables at him for fighting in the war.

Freedoms are not to be abused but cherished. Burning a flag and screaming against the goverment while a family is burying their son who died in Iraq is abuse not a proud celebration of a dear freedom.

Admin if I am causing a problem or starting a issue you do not wish to see then let me know and I will shut up.

I blame those that commit horrible acts for the loss of freedom. I don't like the loss anymore than anyone else so how would you fix the problem Zman? :P

Lets deal with facts, the only people who have protested at the funerals of the brave men and women who died in Iraq were some sort of extreme evangelical right wing group. Crazies.

Our country was founded on dissent. To disagree and critize the government is a long held american tradition. To do so is sometimes a duty. Now is one of those times.

Intelligent Constructive criticisms are good but mindless BS that gets too much air time might not be good for the whole. :D

THATis exaclty the point...In the American system (which I love dearly, and am proud and honored to be an American) the President is not supposed to decide..Thus, the problem.....It is in dictatorships that the leaders control the discourse on what is acceptable speach; and it is a Patriots responslbity to fight against such tendenies here, in our precious, precious democracy...
