my poor roommate is addicted to Copenhagen. It seems that it is no longer available in Costa Rica. Does anybody know why this is and/or a good way for him to satisfy his disgusting habit?

he lives here so he can't bring it down. I am just afraid he'll go homicidal during his withdrawls.

He will have to rely on mail order if possible,,or going next door if available in Panama. Or rely on good friends like yourself to re-supply him on frequent visits.....there are still options.

Where was he getting it? I know the tobacco shop on calle 7 just north of the Presidente and Mas x Menos use to sell it. Pricey but was available.

Do not use the stuff myself but knew a former resident who did and that is where he got his.

Just have him buy a 'fake' cuban cigar from one of the guys outside the HDR. Have him un-wrap it, and use that tobacco for his chew. Guaranteed, he'll quit chewin' tabacky in 7 seconds flat!
Mucho Gusto

I'm a hopelessly addicted Copenhagen coneseur myself. I have almost always been able to find it at the cigar shop just north of the Presidente, across the street from 7th Street Books. If they don't have Copenhagen at the time, they will usually have Skoal. Also, there is a sports bar in Sabana Sur on the opposite side of the park, by the huge office complex that a lot of gringos hang out at. Sorry I can't remember the name, but they usually have either Copenhagen or Skoal for sale at the bar.

Name of the Bar is: "Macs American Bar"

hmm..there is a place down near the mccdonalds, it is an internet cafe, upstairs on the right side, if you are walking down toward the mccdonalds, in the main part, where the presidente is. Not sure of the name of the joint, but they sell chew. I chew myself, and always bring me extra cans, cause it is expensive down there.
:x Lou

I am formerly a Cope addict. You can find it in CR, however, it is very expensive. Look forward to $8 per can as it is imported. My advice... bring your own.
