Does anyone know if you can use a visa gift card in costa rica or columbia. The card does not have my name on it just the words 'any customer'
Thanks.

Why not just call VISA and ask them. Any info you get here may or may not be correct.

Visa / Mastercard/ AMEX gift cards are good wherever those Credit cards are accepted....

They are treated simply as a credit card transaction & the establishment that they shop at would not know if it is a pre-paid card, gift card or any variation.

Hope that helps.. ..

I'm really glad this issue has come up because I've been wondering about using this myself. Although the card says that it's accepted wherever a visa card is, sometimes things don't go that smoothly.

the visa gift card gives me an opportunity to use a "credit card" without there being a record of it here at home....if you catch my hint.

I'd love to hear from soemone that has actually used one down in latin america

It worked, without any issues. Good way not to have your own cc number stolen. Just a little added protection.
