Just checked TACA.COM and noticed fares dropped for Memorial Day Weekend (5/25-29 or around those dates). JFK-SJO $456.72. It's a
non-stop flight out of JFK and leaves around 6 AM and gets into SJO around 9:30 AM. The return flight leaves SJO around 6 PM and gets into JFK around midnight.

Unfortunately, I booked Continental out of Newark last week and it cost me $100 more. It's still a non-stop but the times are not as good as TACA (LASCA).

TACA is much better then Continental. The flight attendants are cute Chicas and the planes are newer. As a Continental pilot once told me in Zona Blue, they refer to Continental flight attendants as "wide bodies".

So if anyone is coming down from NYC check out TACA.COM as soon as possible because they frequently change the price.

I kept saying, wait and the price will drop. Why pay $600? I have a feeling that prices on Taca will drop some more as it gets closer to the travel date if seats aren't being booked up, but why be greedy, saving $100 is enough for me. When I was booking and selecting my seats, I noticed not many seats were taken. Looks like business is not so good in late May.

I love that 6:30am flight. No traffic to the airport at 4:30am. That is about the only time in NY with no traffic. The only problem (not really a problem) is that you get in at 9:30 and at the hotel by 10:30 so the room isn't ready for a couple of hours. But I'm sure that I'll find something "to do" while I'm waiting.

P.S. You have to book with TACA directly to get this fare, Travelocity is still showing $560.
