Hi all, I'm off to CR for the first time in a fortnight, staying at the Occidental Allegro Papagayo. OK, so it's a big family hotel on the coast with nice beaches etc. but - I've found a company offering a holiday package complete with girl so they presumably don't mind provided you're discrete. The question is - are there any local girls around and where do you all recommend I go to find them? Thanks in advance.

Just a couple of notes regarding your post.. seems you already have booked a trip with an all inclusive type deal including Your date for the trip... There are hundreds of threads regarding this I'd do some research as to the natural pitfalls that will become you in this situation so I wont mention them...

Now on to Papagoya... Stayed here on 3 occasions once on my own accord with a LTF of mine so I knew I'd get along with her over a few days... The other two times when my AA flight was diverted to Liberia and I never made it to SJO till the next day they put us up there....

Back to the PapaG... Large sprawling Resort that for CR is I'd give it 3 stars out of 5... Rooms are NOTHING special, cookie cutters as every room & every building is the same except for the cottages & suites which are outrageously priced.

Food is I'd say better than average but nothing special, with a variety of restaurants to choose, buffets, sit down formal dining etc. Property is a real phucking pain in the ass to negotiate as its built into the side of a mountain and getting to & from your room / building is a toll and effort in itself.

All inclusive liquor is mostly local brands and beers nothing top shelf, but readily available at all bars etc... note no mini bar or fridge in your room, you have to go out to get drinks...

Beach SUCKS.. small, nothing special and its DAM BOILING there hot & humid and watch for the sand fleas... sitting around doing nothing you wake up the next day and you were bitten to death by what they called NoSEUMS, you don't see um but you will be scratching for days...

OK enough about logistics.. about 40 minutes from Playa De Coco which is the closest and only point of action in the area from what I could tell... Security is TIGHT TIGHT TIGHT... getting in to and from the compound is a chore.. I reccomend not leaving... YOu better be very happy with your companion for the trip, as carting chicas back, forth or exchanging for something down on the beach is not easy, nor even something I'd consider.

ALL & all Papagoya is high priced & average for the dollar amount, not really conducive to the monger lifestyle whatsover... If you have a nice lady your comfortable with, you can enjoy yourself for few days, they certainly will be impressed, but from my point of view I was not.
