Let me see... Sportsmen Lodge, Casa Vino, future rooms at Zona Blue, La Mansion.

If you build it, they will come.

I'm afraid its extended to the News Cafe. I gave a newbie a phone number today. He calls the chica and arranges to meet at the news cafe for lunch. Chica never showed. Turned out, she couldn't get in the door as she was wearing a belly button shirt that didn't cover enough stomach.

hey all!
would like some old school opinion...

does anyone feel lately that the ticas
have been trying to adhere to the rules?
or perhaps they aren't aware of these rules yet?

or are they trying to scoff at them all together?
everyone's thoughts appreciated

Walked over to the Prez a couple days ago . They would not let my Colombiana in, because her shoulders were exposed!

She was dressed very reserved....cotton sweat pants and a cotton top, but because her shoulders were exposed, they wouldn't let her in. I couldn't believe it. No naked belly, no tight shorts, just exposed shoulders.

Oh well....

This is the biggest problem that I see with the Presidente dress code. It is so ambiguously written that interpretation is strictly in the hands of the security person on duty. This leads to the inevitable uneven enforcement that dooms any code eventually.

That was the same silly complaint with one of my chicas over a year ago when I first became aware of the policy, we were both like WTF!? :? I went up to my room and got one of my shirts for her to put on and cover her sexy, provocative, bare shoulders...
I got the feeling the security was just trippin' and either didn't like my looks or hers.

I love the Presidente............ Where Prostitutes dress like ladies and Ladies may dress like Prostitutes. Any female who has a belly button showing or clevage is a tourist or guest of the hotel. Its their place to set the rules and enforce them even if left up to the security guard on duty at the door.
Like they say in the onset of this string, If you do not like their rules ,

PLEASE TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE.

For me I can adapt even in my old age for I feel that this hotel is still the best in town.

In March, every girl I brought up was hassled.

In fact, my favorite Columbiana was wearing long pants with a long sleeve shirt. The shirt did have a V neck and since she has a nice pair, a little cleavage did show. But she was wearing a long sleeve winter coat over her shirt!!! To our shock, they would not let her in!!!

I had to go buy a night at the Del Rey!!! For the last year I have been staying at the Presidente at least 5 days out of the month (business in C.R.), I now most of the desk by first name, tip well and am always very respectful, but will be staying elsewhere this trip.

YMMMV, but I think they have gone way overboard. My Columbiana was dressed more tastefully than half the eco-tourist women at the Presidente.

I was ther for 16 days last month and the girls that i was with got hassled almost daily. Now this friend of mine is not a working girl. Their dress code honestly eliminates 90% of the young population of this country based on the current fashion trend. Tight pants, nice top, showing a litle stomach. They really need to enforce their rules with their own guest if they are going to enforce the rules on my guests. I will definetely take my business elsewhere from now on.

Luckily for me, I won't be staying at el Prez during my Memorial Day trip. I was lucky enough to get a room in the new wing at SL thanks to a buddy so I don't need to deal with any of that.

Okay, this along with the other posts is enough to convince me: I will no longer be staying at the Presidente. In fact, I am writing them an e-mail to assure them that not only me but many other men will be crossing the Presidente AND the News Cafe' off of our list of places to patronize while in San Jose'. I think anyone who has decided not to stay there because of their new policy should let them know that you won't be staying there. You can get their e-mail address at their website at :
www.hotel-presidente.com/contact.html

They seem to want to discourage us from bringing girls there, so let's give them what they want and see how they like it next green season when business is slow. Eff the Hotel Presidente.

I really don't understand why anyone would stay there. I guess you all will have to wait until it happens to YOU before you take it seriously. I am willing to learn from the experience of others who have already posted about their experiences of being rejected at the door. The bottom line is, they are being inconsistent with their policy, and it seems obvious to me that they don't WANT us there; so we should oblige them.

There have been however some really disturbing things that have happened there, that thankfully were not our members to the best of our knowledge. It has been the old “ugly American” syndrome that we here at CRT try to discourage based on our creed of enjoy yourself and your brothers, the ladies etc but do it as a gentlemen. There have been the loud rowdy drunks in the halls, people making a scene in the lobbies, even someone threatening physical violence towards a front desk clerk.

As Tourism has increased to C.R. so has the occupancy rates, and with that The Presidente caters to all forms of travelers now, from the Eco Tourists, to families, and of course us the Single Male Traveler. It is a very delicate balance that they are trying to maintain where they welcome us with open arms, yet do not want to offend the very large majority percentage of guests of the Presidente that are traveling without our mindset.

With all of this in mind, they instituted a dress code.

Well I'm waiting to get more first hand info of how things are lately at the Pres. from some amigos there recently but looking at recent posts I'm beginning to wonder about my future reservations if things are as bad as reported. I need my 2 chicas/day while in SJO!

Latinoheat suggested bringing a Burka for our chicas to put on before coming in the Pres.

It's a shame everyone is being hassled over the actions of the few a**holes that come in drunk, make noise in the halls at 3 AM and have no respect for anyone else in the hotel. I see and hear a few of these guys every trip and the eco-family tourists must be making quite a few complaints lately for the hotel to be cracking down so hard with this policy.
We know not every single CRT is well behaved at all times but why couldn't the hotel cut some slack to us CRT VIPs that stay in the hotel regularly, behave like gentlemen and have no past history of creating any disturbances? If I fit that bill and my chica is dressed as required flashing my VIP card upon entrance should be worth something. Also the hotel keeps record of the chicas behavior and expects them to adhere to a certain code of conduct, so why don't they just do the same with guests and keep track of the troublemaker gringos and single them out instead of punishing every guy and chica that attempts to enter the hotel? Perhaps something like this is in the works but right now it seems their solution is overkill and they should target the few gringos causing the trouble instead of the whole CRT population.
