I just returned from a 5 day stay at the Dunn Inn and need to send compliments. The staff is excellent. Most speak a little english. Their service was excellent. The restaurant/bar has very good food at reasonable prices. I only have two complaints:

1) The street noise could get bad at times. Ask for a quiet room.

2) Chica fees are $10. I think they gave me a few freebies, but still high.

Overall, given the room rates of $37 to $47 for singles, I would rate this place way above Castillo, which is in the same price range. The suites at $70 looked to be a great deal as well.

I give it a thumbs up and will prefer Dunn Inn on my next trip.

Chi,

Thanks for the input. I've often wondered what the deal was on that place......seems we don't hear much about it.

Great info Chi_trekker.

Dunn's Inn has always been reported as chica unfriendly not chica tolerant. $10.00 guest fee is not all that unreasonable compared to Holiday Inn, Balmoral, Sleep Inn, etc.

Chi, why would you rate it above the Castillo when Castillo has no chica fee? Are the rooms nicer, staff friendlier, location better, breakfast better? Right now you can stay at Castillo for $42 cash with no chica fee and have the excellent location plus everything else that's offered.

TicaFan,

Good point.

Chi......would you elaborate a little more for us? I for one would like a little more info too. It could mean the difference of making an informed decision, or not. Thanks.

I generally felt that Dunn Inn was just more pleasant. My room at Castillo had paper thin walls and I could see the room below me through the floor boards. I had a hard time sleeping. I woke up in the mornings to people shooting pool below or someone barfing in the room next to me. I wanted outta of there after several days and luckily found a sport at the SL.

The restuarant/bar in Dunn Inn is also much nicer. There is a free continental breakfast and free coffee all day long.

I never had any problems with chicas. However, I was with one the whole time and she was not a P4P girl. They just registered her as my guest. But, trust me, the guards looked at her then me with a smile... like ... good job man. Because they thought she was P4P.

I heard someone at ZB talk about Dunn Hotel this weekend. He said there was no chica fee. And the suites were great.
