If they do I feel sorry (right) for you guys in town. You may be losing the happiest hour of the whole trip. Every hour in CR is a happy hour. 17 days and counting!!!!!

Enjoy...

The sun rises and sets just about the same time in Costa Rica year round and rural Ticos gear there life around that rather than the clock so DST would make little sense.

The situation in Nicaragua is very similar but last year they tried DST. This year they went back to old way of not changing the clock because it did not work because of the factors I mentioned affecting CR.

I live on the East Coast and kept waking up around 5:00am on my last trip. Doesn't really matter what time I go to bed I alway get up about the same time. Drove the TLN gals crazy......oh, well it was my dime right? Any way always had my choice of sits for the breakfast at the Prez.

Hello Clock Watchers,

So, a dumb question: Costa Rica time is now the same as Central U.S. time, right. or, to be more precise, as of tomorrow morning at 2:00 a.m., the times will be the same? AI never remember this. :?

TIA

EC,
At this moment, CR time is the same as US Central Time Zone. As of 2am Sunday, CR time will be the same as US Mountain Time Zone.

Due to DST, I had to change my CRT timezone setting under Profile otherwise the "time posted" was off by an hour.

Mine (Eastern time) is now set to GMT-4.
Central would be GMT-5.
Mountain would be GMT-6.
Pacific would be GMT-7.

It is Central Standard time all year. I'm told they tried changing the time years ago, but saw no point in it.
