The problem with buying a reggatron CD (or even a 'Best of Cumbia') is that YOU have to listen to that crap too. Opps, did I say that? Well I'm an old fart so forgive me. But if you have any musical preference, bring it with you. After all, you are the one paying.

Guys, I really hate to disagree.

If she wants to listen to Reggaelousy, let her do so on her own time. Shakira? Please... If I hear that freaking "Gasolina" song one more time, I'll go berserk.

Look, here's the music that works for me. Surprise: It's the music that works for me. Soft jazz, old R&B ballads, music with some throb and pulse. Who cares what she likes? She ain't my girlfriend or wife, and as long as I'm paying, she can listen to my music for a couple hours.

I've written about this before: On my first trip to Zona Blue in August, 2004, the background music piped into all the rooms started out with Blues Traveler. Okay, that was fine. The soundtrack then switched to...of all things...the Kenny G. Christmas Album!!! You know how hard it is to keep it hard with a soprano sax bleating "The Little Drummer Boy!?"

Pick the music which makes you feel relaxed, virile or sexy. If it's Rage Against the Machine or Snoop Dog, so be it. She can play her own tunes on her own time.

Pa-rum-pa-pum-pum...

Muff,

I'll happily send you a copy of Twarag cannot.

Now, another question: There exists a "Magic CD 2." I've seen references to it elsewhere, but I've never heard it. Does anyone have a copy they'd like to share?

And with all due respect to Irish Drifter, I still say that I would rather play music that I enjoy than try to second-guess the musical tastes of a girl who will be with me for a couple hours. I have 3 Reggaeton CD's and can't stand to listen to them; and this is coming from a white guy who really enjoys a lot of rap and hiphop.

Let's give Twarag a day or two and see if he is able to deliver. Afterwards, I will humbly accept your kind offer.

From what he (Twarag) told me, it is a wonderful compilation of beautiful Hispanic songs.
I'll PM you my home address just in case.

Thank you
Muff

Never had trouble second guessing the musical tastes of the chicas using the magic CD. They all seem to enjoy it and the music is okay with me. Naturally YMMV

Rumor on the street has it you really prefer "It's A Small World" from the teacup ride at Disney World :-)

Personally I prefer Ravel's Bolero or Korsakov's Sabre Dance, but then again I only stroke once on every sixteen notes. :-)

But knowing me as you do, you are aware that I'm more into the theme music from the Jane Goodall documentaries.....Ohhhhh oohhh that sweet music of monkey love. :-)

Hello El Lamero...

Last I spoke with a couple of CRTs they confided in me that XXX favorite song while in the bedroom is either Randy Newman's "Short People" or Barry Manilow's "It's A Miracle"...

Can you verify if any of this is true?

Gentlemen,

In the interest of furthering the sharing and enjoyment of fine music between the gringos and las chicas, I humbly introduce the Magic Ciego.

Still under development, the Magic Ciego will replace the Magic CD, or at least be a wonderful addition to your Magic Music library.

Stay tuned for more information.

Magic Ciego: The best of Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Andrea Boccelli and Mickey Gilley.

Using the cross-thread, quote rule (hard for casual readers to follow):

Yeah, I'm blind. No, I don't have a good sense of humor about it. Thanks for asking, as*hole. Smiley faces

What *sshole asked you that?

I'd like to know who the insensitive sh*t for brains was.
Just to give him a piece of my mind...
Here in Jersey we call guys like that "DICKWEEDS"!

Easy Muff, easy... this was the question:

Quote:
We haven't met yet, and after reading many of your threads I see references to blindness. Are you? If so you have got one good sense of humor about it. When I thought up the little tag line at the bottom of my threads (see below), I actually thought it would suite you better. Let me know if you want to borrow it. Wink

And El C gave a great answer I quoted above. I left the questioner off.

Nope. Sorry RHM. There will be no cliche collection of blind artists. No Stevie Wonder, no Ray Charles, no Art Tatum, no George Shearing, no Diane Schurr, no Ronnie Milsap, no Jose Feliciano (well, maybe some Jose...he rocks in Spanish), no Micky Gilley....

The disc however, will include slurping noises, a live douche demonstration, obscene songs, sound effects and a solo by El Lamero.

When I was in ZB in early March they were playing Tu-Pak Shakur. I loved it and it seemed the girls liked it as well. Surely, they didn't understand the lyrics but who cares.
