In May, I will be staying there for the first time and I have no problems abiding by their policies, but I would like to know exactly what the policy is. I requested it yesterday from a manager who responded to my last email, but have yet to receive it. We'll see.

Their "Dress Code" is probably never going to be published because it is way too vague and nebulous and arbitrarily enforced. When I was there Sunday 23 March about 1:A.M. my guest to be was refused because she didn't have a jacket.
There was absolutely no one else around and I got the impression that the guy just wanted a BRIBE, so screw it. We went to Motel Eden, which cost me a lot more but I was just too pisssed off to give it to him. Later I saw a girl turned away because of her skirt length while my own date with just as short a skirt was let in just fine. A couple of other CRT guys had their dates rejected and went elsewhere. Personally I have been coming to the Presidente for 7 or 8 years or more, and find this really OFFENSIVE. I guess they really don't want our business very much
(By the Way, for you un-learned ones, Costa Rica is in "America", just as much as the United States is. The USA is NOT America, maybe "Amerika".but that's another story :( )
I would like to see Hotel Presidente put their Dress Code in Writing for the World to see and Post it OPENLY, maybe on their Web Site.

I agree with Papucho completely. This so called dress code policy is completely subjective, so some security guard who's looking for a bribe is making the decision based on how he feels that night.

The visitor policies that I posted earlier in this thread I received via email from a manager. Since this will be my first time staying there, I will insist that I be given a copy of the dress code policy prior to my trip. This is my right as a guest, if such a policy actually exists. If I am not given one, then I will assume this not an official hotel policy. And if any of my guests are refused entry due to said policy, I will be in the hotel manager's office asking for an explanation and creating a whole lotta shit.

To my surprise, I received the dress code policy in writing from hotel management. But as I suspected, it's very vague and ambigous, and it states that the discretion will be left to the manager on duty.

The Hotel instituted a dress code for our guests and visitors with the intent of maintaining a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere in the public areas of the hotel. While we understand that clothing is a personal matter, highly reflective of individual taste and style, inappropriate clothing can impact the level of decorum at the hotel. To this end, our dress code is intended as a guideline for guests and visitors.

Since every piece of clothing and its wearer are different, decisions on what is appropriate is left to the discretion of the manager on duty.

While in the hotel’s public areas, guests are requested to:

-Wear shoes at all times
-Avoid low-cut or very revealing clothing
-Avoid extremely short skirts or shorts
-Keep midriffs covered
-Avoid mesh tops and swimming attire
-Avoid clothing with racist or discriminatory insignias or logos

Interesting reply from the Presidente. It seems to contradict some posting from last week that there are different dress codes for guests of the hotel (persons who rent the room in hotel terms) and visitors (in this case chicas brought back by guests)

Quote:

However they leave themselves the ability to discriminate by inserting this language,

Quote:

It would seem that the easy answer to this is for those offended by the code to seek accommodations at other hotels.

It a little weird that they want midriffs covered as well as low cut shirts(showing a little clevege). Only because when its hot down there you will barely see any chicas covering up.

Hell what are they going to do about the chicas that walk by the rail. Or are they going to put up tinted glass.

Im starting to worry about the room I already booked for LB party. I guess I'll just have to bring a light trench Coat with me and escort my guest up in that. :D

Well Gentlemen I think I just found the solution to our problems. Any chica I escort in to the Presidente will be wearing on of these.

More to unwrap, but will get the job done. Plus I can tell the front desk and anyother hotel guest she is just there to give me a check up.

I already brought some. I will keep it in my pocket and when I leave the DR, I will have the chica put and on. Then I tell the Blood Pressure guy that she's planning to give me a complete physical
I'll have no need for his services.

Hell this same place sell a body suit. Maybe I should invest in some of these. Then I can just tell them she's my mechanic and she's just going to change my oil.
