I can't speak for everyone, but I always book them seperate. I believe most guys do the same.

Toll free number for Hotel Del Rey:
1-888-972-7272

Flights ? You're on your own, but you could do a search on the board. There's several discount websites mentioned in different threads.

Good luck,
MG

I doubt that you will find any packages for airline and Hotel Del Rey or Presidente. You're more likely to find Best Western or Ramada, or ones that nobody on CRT has ever heard of. They are suited more for the casual ("eco-tourist") traveler. I have never booked a travel package to anywhere. It seems like they are not that good a deal and they many restrictions (i.e. can't change/cancel hotel or flight).

First, check your hotel of choice for room availability, then once you booked your room, go and find a cheap flight.

That's funny, but I do it the exact opposite. I book my flight for the precise dates and times I want........ and THEN I book my room. I'm not worried about finding a room. I will ALWAYS find a room, even if I have to sleep in the park!

Bkcwhopper,
Welcome to the board, but amigo.....you really need to use the 'search' function. Probably 99 percent of your questions have already been answered, somewhere in here.

Good luck,
MG

Although they may have done it several years ago, the management of the DR and Pres are not about to share revenue with the agents now.....they don't need to because of their vacancy rate. Most of the hotel / air packages you will find for a hotel IN the gulch will probably be with the Balmoral or Holiday Inn (which I won't stay at). Just book separate. A bad thing about booking a combo package is trying to change it or adding additional days when there. Also, you can't pick a floor or certain room....they usully have one specified floor they use for these packages. You can bet your ass that if there is construction going on you will be on the floor just below it. Happened to me in DC last year and New Orleans also. This has been my experience.

HDR is not likely to offer a package deal. Too great a chance of someone who would be horrified  might book it by accident  and have a heart attack when they looked into the BM

Their insurance company nixed the idea

The Hotel Pres. is now on Travelocity, Expedia and Orbitz getting 65.00+ minimum for rooms and also available in package deals, this is why they are so busy...(so I hear)

Bkc,
What dates are you travelling? Have you checked the 'Roll Call' section yet, to see if some other members may be in town at the same time? Just a thought.....

Yes, but wouldn't it be interesting if they did, they could have a 5 day, 4 night package for say, $1500.00. Included would be a charter flight on hooters airline, a 4 night stay, complementry condoms, a chica of your choice for all 4 nights plus breakfast in bed. Now, that would be a hell of a package!
