Just wanted to post some brief comments for anyone venturing to the Dominical area and looking at hotels there.
I had a reservation for 4 nights at the brand new Cuna del Angel hotel which is about 10km. south of the town of Dominical. It's a brand new hotel which only opened last October or November. This is a very upscale "Romantic" type hotel. The design..decor and amenities are all 1st class. Don't EVEN consider bringing a "hooker" there. Bring your "wife" or "girlfriend"..just make sure they look "appropriate". The hotel has wireless internet available in the rooms and the rooms are really nice. The owner is a German guy named Tom. Everything was perfect when I checked in EXCEPT for one item....actually one important item: the air-conditioning absolutely SUCKED!! The unit in my room worked no better than a fan. I complained and they let me try out 2 other rooms and it was the exact same problem. After a long day running around looking at properties I want to come home to a nice air-conditioned room but these units simply didn't work and I had no choice but to check out the next morning. If it weren't for that, the place would have been perfect. So........I would highly recommend Cuna del Angel, especially if you're in the mood for romance but just make sure they've got the air-conditioning issue resolved.
Since I checked out on short notice and had no other hotel reservation I asked by realtor if he knew of any places I might get into. He told me about this place in Dominical called Plaza Suites. I drove over there and was very lucky they had space. The hotel only has 4 rooms but they are all full blown apartments with complete kitchen..complete living room..seperate bedroom..large bathroom and good size patio with a hammock and a couple of chairs and small table. The decor is Spanish style and it was a beautiful apartment. This place had one air-conditioning unit for the entire apartment and the unit Kicked Ass!! I had Gretel from GG sent over there and absolutely no chica issues or fees. I would HIGHLY recommend Plaza Suites.
Oh yes...at Cuna del Angel the regular rate I believe is about $135. I got a corporate rate which I believe was $110 or $115. At Plaza Suites the room (and the room at Plaza Suites is easily 3 times as large as Cuna del Angel) rate was $110. If you pay cash they won't charge you the tax.
Hope this is helpful.

Thanks Piroca, that is great information. They invested all that money in the hotel and then can not provide basic air conditioning? Oh well, I am sure they will figure it out.
