I went down to SJO in early December (MIA-SJO) on American Airlines and my flight cost $250. I'm trying to go back in June and the cost of the flights have doubled ($500+).

Should I hold off and hope the cost goes down or is this what I can expect to pay? Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

BTW- I went down to SJO in Dec and had the time of my life. I had so much fun I'm going back in June and hope to go down there every few months.

I took advantage of this site prior to going to SJO my first time and the advice I got from here was invaluable. The descriptions were right on. I was a little skeptical about the quality of women before I got down there because I am a little picky but the only thing I have to say now is "Oh My God". Big K*D in a candy store is a great description. So much so I have now become a VIP member and I know it will be worth every penny.

Thanks in advance for the airline tips!!!!

Good be wrong but I think the fares are at their peak. You have a lot of time until June. I would hold off until after Semana Santa. The green season will also kick in at that time.

I agree. By booking now you'd be grossly overpaying. As the green/rainy season approaches in April/May, I expect fares to drop. I would hold off. The best time to buy is something like 30 days prior to travel, according to a recent post.

I haven't booked my Memorial Day flight yet. If fares don't drop, then I'll pay whatever in late April/early May, but I'm pretty sure this is as high as they're going.

They are in Fort Lauderdale and their prices are sometimes better than you can get elsewhere. Be sure to check the prices on Martinair...they do not fly every day, but their ticket prices are lower.

Martin Air is running a special right now. Like $289.00 I think.

Thanks for the tips on the airlines. I checked some of the online fares on 3/17/06 and found some relatively cheap flights (300-350) but when I tried to book them they were unavailable.

I think I will take your advice and wait another month and see what happens. I can't see the fares going up further than $550.

I did check out that website and there were some cheaper fares there as well. Thanks for the tip.

Hey Marine "6056",

You may already know about it, but check out the following site as it checks many airlines in one search:
