In June '04, I came down with 14 guys for a batchelor party (code name - Fishing Trip). We celebrated at a bar in Flamingo Beach. Between the food, drinks, champagne ($150 p/bottle), mariachi band, chica's drinks, etc., etc., the tab came to over 1 million colones. At that time, the exchange was around 440 colones/dollar. You do the math!

It's safe to say that we had a lot of fun. Granted, a few of the guys 'might' of been a little intoxicated, but for the most part, it was awesome. The best man paid the whole tab. What the hell..... he also paid for our flights and hotel rooms for the weekend, so a couple thousand $$ for a bar tab was a drop in the bucket!

And, by the way....we actually DID do a half-day of fishing that trip!

Damn, when you put it like that ($2k), I spend more than a million a week for four months out of the year down there chasing panocha....maybe P.A (Panochaholics Anonymous) is in my immediate future

My average 1 week trip

5-7 Sessions at ZB (with tip) 200-300
1-2 sessions Bar Idem 100-125
1-2 sessions Oasis 50-75
1-2 sessions (other MP)
2-3 SL girls 150
1 evening at Pantera Rosa 100-150
1 evening at Kamur 100-150
4 days and nights with Novia 400 (because I am nice)
Hotel - 7 nights, depnding on where I stay 300-500
Food and drink (7 days and nights) 300
extras (chica drinks, Jazz Cafe, ZB Bar, etc) 200-300

Total 1 week.....$ 1900-2500, plus of course my air fare from Chicago
$350-600

Well over the million colone barrier.........I guess I am a temporary millionaire.....

The 1million colons budget is for entertainment. I think I should be able to have a good time on this budget.

How to spend 1,000,000 colons?

I’m sitting around playing on-line poker (w/play money) so let me take a couple minutes to think about my upcoming trip. Since I don’t drink much I won’t need a large stash for alcohol.

I will be in town for eight days. If I visit ZB or another MP once a day and have a double (2 girls) a time or two that is (10x18,000=180,000) for my day time entertainment.

From what I have read evening sessions from either SL, HDR, Kumar or Idem 8x$75=300,000 colons.

I have never tried the little blue pill. Maybe I could book a 24 hour session with a G& G gal and experiment. Let me see how many pops I can do in a 24 hour period. $200 or 100,000 colons.

Ok….that would be a minimum of 19 pops/sessions in eight days (if I can handle it). That would account for 580,000 colons.

I thought about three day trip activities. The Class 5 rapids trip $95.00; the day trip to the Hot Springs/Arenal $85; and the ATV trip $75 ($255x500=127,500)

That will leave 292,500 for food, drinks, taxi, tips and whatever I might have forgotten.

Any suggestions?

You left out must trips to the new and improved Kamur (50,000-75000)
