I can do CR without a wingman!

I will be visiting Playa Panama later this month and could use some recommendations on nice hotels. I will have a local guest who is traveling with me in CR and I would like something on the beach, with a pool, a gym is a bonus and something around the medium scale would be nice. I am thinking in the 120-160 per night range. Your thoughts and insights are appreciated.
