Stayed here while the condo details were being worked out.If you want some peace and quiet and bringing ticas to your room is not important....hmmm. ZB is around the corner. Accomodations similar to the Presidente:

5 mil colones..tica fee....ouch...
strict quiet policy..from 10pm-6am
$45....night...no fridge in room.
small dining area/table/2 chairs
a shower you could get lost in
3 levels
2 computers for internet acess....$1 per hour
safe in room...uses a key...not for laptops(kept mine in my attache case) very secure...at dark the door is unlocked and locked for each person by an attendant
no a/c....ceiling fans...nice window/hotel vent system...I used a blanket at night.
buy bottle beer and sodas from attendant
small dining area for breakfast/dinner
small souvenir shop on site

Inca Real.........I've seen it before. It's a place we don't often hear much about. Thanks for the input.

I've stayed there before and liked it. The only thing is that you will want to avoid a room on the bottom floor, where your room is right next to the breakfast area. Besides that, it is very nice.

I had a cab driver try to take me over there once. He swore by it. I wonder if he was getting a commission. :)

He may have been, but it's still a decent place, quiet, comfy rooms.

After doing a search on Inca Real, I came up with this thread:

I'm thinking about two nights at Inca Real after returning from San Isidro. The hotel looked nice inside when I toured it, and the $38 per night cash rate (including taxes) makes it even more attractive.

The CRT Sponsor webpage states the $10 chica fee is waived for CRT members: https://costaricaticas.com/news.php?id=273

I believe this thread was originally posted before the hotel became a CRT sponsor. Can any recent CRT guests of this hotel verify the "no chica fee" policy?

Thanks.

It took me three days, but after that, there were no new workers that needed to see my CRT card for the waiver of the Chica fee.

It was on that same day that I realized the rooms have an open window to allow fresh air in from the open 'arboretum'....after hearing my neighbors having some fun

This place is definitely an eco-tourist haven. And they have signs posted (read them on the 2nd day) that you're supposed to be quiet/considerate of the other guests after 11ish. I walked in with chicas as late as 3am and they never said a word to me.

If ya like ZB, it's like one block away.

FWIW there's a great apartment available as part of a hotel near Castillo and SL. The hotel itself is not chica friendly but the apartment is your gig.

TicaFan,

Wow, quite the spread for $50 per night. I know where it is...I´ll check it out when I return to San Jose next Friday.
