Squirrel If you read my first post which started this thread, the dress code is mentioned and also a response from the Pres. mgmt. There is also an old thread from my first encounter with this policy last year, you could start a new one to make newer members aware but most of the chicas know of the dress code, in fact that's why you'll notice many of them at the HDR carry a light jacket. It is not new policy but the enforcement seems YMMV depending on the security guy, desk employee, time of day, etc... Really all they ask is the chica wear a sweater or light jacket in the hotel. Being that late at night it's odd they would be so strict with the policy although the hotel is full of regular tourists this time of year, the security guy was probably just in a bad mood.

The request from the Presidente that the chica have a sweater or light jacket is a reasonable one considering how many of the girls are literally bursting out of their attire.

The problem however is that the dress code the management posted here made no mention of skirt length. Squirrel wrote:

Why? because she was wearing too short of a skirt. the skirts have to go below their knees.

That would make it seem, that since there is no written policy, it is going to be at the discretion of the desk/security person on duty. That makes knowing what is and what is not acceptable at any given time tricky to say the least.

I disagree with this completely. There's no hotel in America where someone would ask a woman to leave because her middriff is showing or dress is very short (of course, she can't be walking around naked but that's not what I'm hearing here).
So... PacoLoco/(whoever is familiar first hand with this policy). Let me get this straight. The guest has to have this "sweater/jacket" if they are dressed to the point of being absolutely scandalous by any reasonable opinion or even if they are just dressed sexily (tight jeans or mini-skirt or bare midriff for example)? I like the Presidente alot (prior to this foolishness) but may consider switching mainstays.

Thanks for that observation Osgood. You really got me there.

At the Prez...

There was one night security guard I did see a lot, Not much English
But I managed to get the point across that the 10,000 C I gave him was for any problems that might arrise and to watch my back in the
News Cafe / Central ave area, Now I imagine they are only concerned with security inside the walls of the Prez but I figured it could not hurt.
On several occasions I had dates arriving later in the evening ,

Or I was returning as we all have in the late hours with a girl.

Is this a joke? That's pretty funny. Like most of the big plans (i.e. infrastructure) in CR, it will never happen.

i am supposed to stay there in may so i asked if they were going to have a "no guests" policy. here's their response:

The information is not accurate. The Hotel allows for visitors to the guestrooms, and there is no plan to change that.

However, we do have some policies concerning visitors that must be observed:

1) All visitors must be registered at Front Desk or Guest Services with a proper picture ID that clearly shows that the person is at least 18 years old.

2) No person under the age of 18 may visit a hotel room.

3) The hotel allows for one visitor at a time per guestroom. Visitors are required to carry an hotel issued ID, and return it before leaving.

4) Visitors and guests must comply with the Hotel's Dress Code.

I did request a copy of the hotel's dress code for my reference.

Orange,

Many thanks for contacting the hotel and getting accurate information.

Out of respect for the board I will refrain from commenting on some other posts on this thread
