The only thing I know for certin about the G.V. is that its Canadian owned. I have never heard that they own another (allthough they could).
As to the Pres., our good buddy, Circus knows a lot about the early days of the Pres. Perhaps he can chime in here.

I always spend time at the outdoor resturant at the Gran Hotel. In Aug 25, 2005 the casino was still in the same place and I saw no renovations going on and the hotel looked the same as the last few years

Not sure how you could have seen that. Previously when you entered the hotel the entire left side of the lobby was filled with slot machines and there were a few tute tables and a cashier booth. All of that was moved downstairs by summer of 2005 and definitely completed by late August.

ID is 100% right. Casino was moved downstairs to a smaller, more cramped area which is the reason I no longer frequent it.
