My wingman and I are arriving for the first time in a couple of weeks from the west coast and we are staying at the Presidente for two nights, Jaco for three and back to the Clarion for the last three nights. Wednesday must be a quiet night of the week so what is a good place to go to and not waste the night. I would have liked to go to the Zona Blue but it is close by the time we arrive. I was thinking the BM, KL, or the Sportsman lodge because some places seem to close early. Also, is Kamur a good place for the first night? I saw the special the new owner had?
Thanks!!!!!

PS: Great site here with lots of good info!

Any one of those would be a good choice. You won't be disappointed.

Shamrock,
Your plan has merit. I did something similar on my first trip. The only snag I see is if you're going to Jaco for the beach or to find women 2 nights would be enough.

You can even get in some fishing and a canopy tour during the day and hit the Beatle Bar at night.

It will take you approximately 1 1/2 hours from touchdown at the airport until you're settled into your room and freshened up. If you hit the street after 11PM on a Wednesday Sportsmen's Lodge will probably be dead.

Fortunately BM (in the Hotel Del Rey), KL, Pantera Rosa, Kamur, Le Grillon and Centerfolds (formerly Casablanca) will just be getting started.

The Hotel Del Rey and Key Largo are across the street from one another. Most of the girls make the trek between the two.
Key Largo has a live band and you can dance and get to know the girls a little better. In the Del Rey it's often "just business".

The Del Rey is more than just the Blue Marlin (that only occupies one corner). Take your time to scout out the surroundings and talent before making a decision.

Welcome to CRT.

Shamrock,
Here are my 2 recommendations. Most guys recommend going with a fixed-price option to get your first out of the way so you can negotiate with a clear head later on. If you get in at 6, ZB will still be open.

Zona Blue (closes 9pm weekdays, 6pm Sunday)--very strong lineup right now

Bar Idem (closes at midnight weekdays)--you should be there by 11pm though because the chicas start leaving early if there are no customers

I agree with orange about Bar Idem, which is on the map. Closes late as said. No negotations. Get's the pressure off to prepare you for what is next.

My first night in the gulch I wandered into the Del Mar restaurant about 10:30 pm to grab a bite before I checked out the scene. I sat at the restaurant bar and could hear music coming from down a hall. I leaned back, looked down the hall and could see what I figured out was the Key Largo. After I finished eating I sat at the back bar in the KL just to check out the place. A couple of chicas gave me a try before one I found interesting stopped and groped me while we chatted a bit. She ask for $80 and I negotiated $60. I probably should have tried for less but considering I had only been in the action about 20 minutes I was thrilled with myself for striking a deal. So sort of by accident I dived in the middle of the action. But I was mostly prepared from reading the articles on this site and the KL was probably a bit easier place for a rookie than the BM.
