Hello crt's, my friends,
I just had the pleasure of being in CR for a month and spent Many hours at the HDR lobby bar. Your probably saw me between 10am to 5 pm most days.

While there in the early morn I get approached by chicas wanting a coffee or a cig. and I give in and buy them one. I do really believe these working girls are starving and have to many responsibilities to forfill in their life. Like for example, LINDA. I met her through a friend on my second day in CR. I got to know her very personally although my spanish is poor I got it translated to understand. Business is not the same for them
and they are panicing. Linda has said she is tired of being who she is,"chica" and can't pay her bills for even food. Linda is not ugly, she is a beautiful Columbian. She has two Babi*s she sends money to for clothes, school etc. and she'd probably send money off to them before using it on herself.

I know many of you will say that she is taking me on for the money I have, but I hope not. She is still there at the DR as we speak because I give her more than she asked for.
I am trying to take care of her, assuring there is some quality left at hotel to choose from. And of course I get special attention when I see her. That to me is worth it. I'm a old dried up 59 year old, not good looking anymore, and I have a 26 year old that gives me the time of day anytime I ask.

Somehow I hope I am stopping the trend of disappearing quality at the DR and improving Linda's life too. She has certainly lifted my spirits. Give me a hand guys pay the price and enjoy the rewards!!!

Last night at HH I was siting with a couple of CRT guys. ( Pidd and Orange and others)Pidd and I were making plans to have dinner, when a chica that I know comes over with another chica who is absolutely beautiful. I invite them to sit down, and Pidd says "there goes dinner" I said I hadn't talked to her yet,so I started talking to her.I fell in and out of love very quickly when she said that she would love to visit my house for ONLY $150. So I asked my usual question "for how many nights". She laughed and I laughed. After some negotiations she came DOWN to ONLY $100. (trust me she was worth it on the basis of looks but I don't pay that much) I told her to look around for another guy to pay her what she was obviously worth. If not she should come back and maybe I would come up a little. She said she was going to come back.In the meantime another chica I know comes over with a couple of friends, one of which she wants me to meet.Well I liked the friend, and she settled for 30,000 so we were good to go.Orange leaves with the Chica I knew. Then I notice the incredibly beautiful one comes back and sees me with the other one draped all over me. Oh well chica...TOO LATE.... NEXT.

a chica said, "I hate going to work and putting on a stupid happy face for these drunk gringos, they talk all kinds of stupid shit."

Now as far as feeling sorry for them.. well let me tell you a story about a few chicas i know who work at KL, no DR.

I met these Ticas on my first trip, their first week working KL. I know because these Ticas did not even know how to negoiate for their services. I ended up translating most of the night for them. None of the Ticas had any luck. At least not with gringos, so after some time i decided to take one for TLN. And she was and has been the best experience i've had in CR. anyways, some of the Ticas decide this business was not for them, so they quit.

One of the Ticas had info regarding a department store looking for a few chicas to work. Several of the Ticas are happy to find a "real job" so they go to work at the deparment store.

They work 9am to 10pm, sometimes staying late to fold clothes and sort out inventory. after a month and a half of working they get paid.... 65,000 colones, what's that about $120 or so. Some of the Ticas have bebes and have to eat as well. Management also wants them to wear nice clothes to work everyday, some of the Ticas have only one nice outfit in their wardrobe, so they have to wash clothes everynight.

i was happy for them when i found out that they decided to quit working at KL but after hearing this story, which did not come from any of them, i can't help but feel sorry for them because they don't have much of a choice as far as working at KL and/or the DR. The last thing i heard was the Ticas talking about going back to KL to work. These Ticas hang out in a group so if one decides to go, they will all go back. it's sad. I can't blame them.

i ran into anther Tica on know on my last trip and i asked about her sister and she told me her sister was getting married to a gringo. I met the gringo, the girl is 18 and the gringo was something like 45, nothing attractive at all about him, not much of a personality. Damn i felt sorry for the Tica. But she has to do what she has to do to survive. I'm met one or two chicas i would marry in a heartbeat but i know that won't solve anything.

I speak fluent spanish and have no trouble talking to the chicas, in fact a lot of chicas always come and sit by me when they are bored of walking around so they sit and talk to me about their problems. i try to cheer them up. last trip i had about 5-6 chicas, most who don't hang toghether, sitting around several tables and i was making them all laugh and forget about their problems. they all say "tu estas loco." the chicas and i hung out for hours having a good time.

something is going on with them, don't know what but i will investigate next time i'm in CR. Maybe early March, hopefully things have changed when i get back.

I'm not trying to be harsh, but to all the excuses for the chicas. IT'S YOUR JOB! It's like Payton Manning showing up for work fat, and smoking a cigarette. "Sorry guys, but I get stressed out getting hit all the time". If you are not going to do your best, look your best, put on a show, work the crowd. Do something else. I swear, if I could put my brain into the body of even a 7 at the Del Rey, I could retire in a year or two.

I happen to agree with Thirdworld. Put a reasonably intelligent brain inside the head of even a 7 and they should be able to get out of the game. I would post more but I'm busy being a domestic bitch here at home cleaning my house, clothes etc.... But, I'll be back. :-)

Trailer park...As much as I have disagreed with you at times, I your post above, very human, very real.

Guys, it is not about feeling sorry for them it is about having empathy and compassion...It is a hard job- often boring, often ugly and in spite of that, some of them give us wonderful experiences. Now, of course, this is no reason to put up with bad service, or to allow ourselves to be ripped off. Pay a fair wage for good service, and you have the right to ask for more effort when it is not there. Trust you gut, and don't go with a woman who is not into being with you....period..yet, come on, the economic opportunities that most of these girls have (given their education, class standing, family histories, ect) are few and far between. Yes, some will leave and find good jobs (a rare few). Yes, some will marry well (rich). But most will either have strangers’ peckers in them for many years, or have loveless sad work, and most of the rest will return to poverty. Of course, there are the few that save money and are able to "pull themselves up by their bootstraps." I know one we Americans are fascinated with the idea of rugged individualism; but this is not part of their culture, not what they learned. Latinas (most) learn to sacrifice for their families, and the values of fatalism and paternalism are very powerful forces in their lives. Most do not believe they can control their futures.

Lets be real, we are using them for sex, and they are using us for money. But, who has the power and chose here? For the most part, our power and privilege gives us the capacity to come and go as we choose, and they are stuck with lives none of us would want.

Sometime what comes across as unfriendliness IS bitchyness, sometimes it is depression. I would not recommend paying for time with a depressed girl, but cut them some slack. I have met and have grown fond of many of you, but the thought of some of your Willies IS a depressing thought.

I never in a million years thought I would quote Jewel song, and at the risk of sounding like a metrosexual BEAYTCH: In the end, only kindness matters.

But as my friend Scubabum once said “you guys are too deep for me, I just want to bang putas.”

True words to live by.

Same could be said about migrant picking crop day after day, the K*D at Mc Donald's flipping burger after burger for 8 hours, the orderly at a hospital moping floors and emptying bedpans nigh after night. That is the job they have and they have an obligation to either do it well and collect their money or find another line of work.

Agree with Thirdworld:

And to whom are they obliged? Just don't go with them.

This is the last I am going to post on this tread, the sense of entitlement without empathy pisses me off. Of COURSE it is their job, and of course we have the right to enter that contractual agreement with them or not, but to equate sex work to any other job negates so many psychological/social/historical realities it is absurd...I mean, if it was any other job, we would not be paying money for it...it is much different, and we all know it..for those who think it is easy, go to an American bar and F&*(K ten fat, very ugly girls over the course of a week...see how you do with that..yes, of course, you are not getting paid, but just try and do it and see if you can keep a good attitude, pretend you are getting paid...getting paid would not impact on how you felt about the act, only the need for doing so....feel free to IM me once you have conducted said experiment.....

Ok, here is my view on the subject. I had a lot time to observe and engage the chicas in DR/BM. I spent a total of about 12-13 hours there yesterday. I was there in the morning waiting for a couple CRT's who are staying there, then came back after lunch and ran into a couple of CRT's on the DR side (incl. VB in his usual spot), and then after having a very good session with one of VB's chicas, came back to BM and hung out till 6:15am, drinking (only sodas after 12:30 :x ).

The chicas look as good or better than they did last May and October. The attitudes, I will admit, have gotten more jaded and business-like. I have spoken to or been involved in conversations (translating or just hanging around while another CRT was engaging). Obviously, this is a generalization since I didn't speak with that many of them, but they don't seem to react to jokes with a laugh or smile, but instead a dirty look, or simply not reaction now.

There are still friendly and personable chicas. I talked to a couple. The girl VB hooked me up with was a sweet as I have ever experienced from BM/DR. There were a few others, but the majority was just not as fun as I remember from previous trips.

Oh, and the price now starts at $100 pretty much universally. Although most are willing to lower the price pretty fast, down to 70-80, there are those that stay firm at $100. Oh, and there are some now that are asking $150, I have witnessed this personally. A CRT I was sitting with was talking an absolute beauty (probably the hottest chica I have ever seen there) and got the "$150 for an hour". Needless to say, she was soon off to find a non-CRT sucker (I hope no CRT would pay that). The problem is that she probably got it from somebody.

Even one of my old "loves" from trips past spotted me an made me a "generous" offer that I could and did refuse, $100 for an hour. I always gave her $60 in the past. She's cute but not hot (body is average).

The mp scene is looking better and better.

Now, having said what I said earlier, don't misunderstand me. This is like the locker room where boys will talk shit and be boys. I am never disrespectful to any of the working girls. In fact, a lot of times I try to pick one with a sour face, and be nice and try to get a smile. When I speak of their attitude, I'm talking about how it's hurting them, not me. Of course, there is always someone to be found by all of us. I'm just saying that if you are going to do any job, you might as well put the effort into it. A couple of my best friends in this country are working or former working girls. And I do have to admit, a lot of times I'm sitting in the DR, I do think and wonder what this life does to them, what their life is like outside the DR. Just wanted to make that clear since I can be abrupt sometime... And no, no operations in my future. haha

I do not know where you find free employees but my experience has been when I contract for an individual to perform a function there is always a monetary consideration involved.

Quote:

and they have an equal right to enter or not enter into that contractual agreement but once they do they have an obligation to perform it to the best of their abilities. Sex work is their job and it is just that a job. If you choose to see it through the psychological/social/historical matrix so be it. I will continue to see it as their job.

Talk about absurd! That is such a ridiculous "test" as to be unworthy of a reply. I quoted it only to let you know I read it.
