I have to get to Atenas on Friday March 4th to meet with a realtor & look at some homes. I was planning on renting a car the following day, Saturday since I'll be driving to the coast. My question is therefore: for the day trip I need to make to Atenas from San Jose (I'm staying at Sportmen's) is it easier to plan on renting my car one day ealier (the additional day will probably cost me around $85 - $90 or so) or would taking a taxi from SJ to Atenas & back be less costly. Thx.

I would not do either. I think the best option is to hire a driver (see sticky Please List Your Dependable Drivers & Contact Information) for a day or 1/2 day and let him take you. Then you could explore the surrounding area with a knowledgeable driver for the same or most likely less cost.[/quote]

Thx. Only thing is...I haven't a clue about where to go or how to go about "hiring a driver". I've never done that before. Where do I start?
