Looks like Taca has come to their senses...

I'm about to book at $386 RT on Taca JFK-SJO for Memorial Day weekend. It was at $563 over the weekend.

THAT'S MORE LIKE IT :!: (I CAN THINK OF 4 ZB CHICAS THAT I CAN SPREAD THAT $160 ON  )

Yo Mikey, I'll be baaack

I just did, that got me nowhere. Their "best" rate is $606. Yea, no thanks!!!! I'll just wait till it drops below $400 again.

Since 4:30pm eastern, I have gotten online (TACA.com) quotes of $620, $606, $602, and $584 for the same flights. This is not unusual for airlines. When you see a good fare, you have to grab it RIGHT AWAY. It may be gone in 5 minutes LITERALLY!

I am starting to browse for a future CR trip for late May/early June, possibly Memorial Day weekend.

I am seeing fares of $550-638 on Taca. I was there last June for under $400. I know fuel costs have increased, but this is ridiculous.

I know exactly how you feel. I paid less than $400 last year out of EWR. EWR prices are a little over $600 now. I can't wait to get back to SJ but the prices have to drop first. The current price I can do two trips to the Dominican Republic.

Maybe we should all start applying for airline jobs to help suit our financial flying terms

I may have spoken too soon. Taca pulled my great fare 5 minutes after it was offered and I wasn't quick enough to pull the trigger. It's now $606. Riiiiiight! They must be smoking some good shit.

I'm sure that $400 fare will be back in a month or two once they realize there aren't many suckers who'll pay $600. But hey there are always suckers willing to overpay.

It is ridiculous the amount of change in price to CR. I booked a flight out of Newark a few months ago and it was $400. It is now $800 this week. It averages about $600. I would fly Taca for $386 if I could find it. Orange have you seen that fare again. Orange are you from NYC or the suburbs? I live near the Woodbury Commons Shopping Mall upstate about an hour from the city? Tux

I did a search for a few different dates and it's coming up at $550-620, so I think brcause of the sale they had this week that they emailed all their FF members and all the cheap seats were bought.

Taca website sucks because you can't search for flex dates, only specific.

I'm trying to book for Memorial Day weekend (May 25-30) but I'm not paying $606, so I'll wait a couple months, I have a feeling prices will drop once the high season is ending. They can't be too much higher, I'll take my chances.
