I believe that I am DEFINITELY in the minority.
I don't own a retail (storefront) business. I'm a contractor, but I am one of the only contractors in my area that offer a credit card payment as an option. My customers don't use plastic because they can "buy" more on plastic vs. cash. They use their credit cards because they need their home fixed in a hurry, and they have no choice.
Most of my CC transactions average around $2,000 - $3,000. Because I offer them the option to pay with a credit card, I am able to generate an
extra $50K - $60K in sales every month. This is revenue that I would not have generated without offering that option for payment.
The fees suck, but it's a necessary evil. But, the nice thing, is that I am able to use my AA CitiBank card extensively (for business purchases), so I rack up a shitload of miles every month. [/u]
