You can hear the next room neighbors at nite. Well I can't really say that for sure but, the one night I slept early I heard the room next to mine pretty clear. After that first nite, I was the one bringing chicas and boozing it up in my room late at nite. hahahaha. I did feel bad though because, it seemed most of the people staying there were there trying to avoid the party atmosphere like DL.

The funny thing is that I e-mailed them last time also and they never replied. So I show up around SJO got into a cabbie and did'nt know where it was. I gave the address of the lodge but, he couldn't find it. So I called the number they had on the site but, it was a fax. So I just cruised with the driver for about a hour and then we finally found it. Once I got there my reservation was canceled because, they thought I was suppose to show up a day earlier. I reserved the 2br suite but, blah blah blah. So I just got another room. I kind of enjoy it even more because, I didn't really have take out service. I enjoyed NF and Oasis during the day and got drunk at nite. Too bad I didn't get to try Idems. Hope this helps.

I emailed Fri. morning and had a response from Johana by noon. Today is Saturday maybe you'll have to wait until Mon. morning for a response.

Mas chicas,

I've never had a problem with my SL reservations via email or telephone. I'm sure by now you've gotten a response.

Here's my Newbie's 2 cents worth on SL....I checked it out a few times on my trip, though I stayed at the Presidente, and always found Bill working, checking out the operations and, in general, trying to make things as pleasant as possible for his guests and visitors.....

I know Bill has to provide good customer service as he is running a business, but it is my opinion that Bill, on principle, wants to see things run properly and to do the right thing...

And I'm not posting this to suck up or brow nose...I just believe that when Bill says he is going to correct an issue, that he's going to give it his best...

And Bill, I don't think any of the CRT guys are 'giving up' on the SL.....hahahaha

Bill,
As always you are on top of things. Nothing less than what I would expect from SL. This is unequivocally my hotel of choice in SJ.

While we're on the topic of reservations, I had a question... I received this message when I tried to do the online reservation for my next trip:

"For your requested dates of Thu 2 February 2006 to Mon 6 February 2006, Sportsmens Lodge is currently NOT able to confirm accommodation instantly over the Internet. There is a good chance that our reservations staff will confirm accommodation by email, if you complete our "Reservation Request" form or call us on 1-888-562-2121."

So I emailed and received a reply (within 20 minutes, by the way) and booked those dates.

Why wasn't the online reservation system able to book me?

Thanks.

Hello Syracuse Orange,

Not sure yet...Johanna tells me we were sold out for that time (Super Bowl weekend) and had a cancellation hit which crossed at that time you requested... freezing auto reservations. But will confirm this.

Best Regards,

Bill

Mark this is for you. Thank you for your report. Bill threw a great party for us on 10-22. But keep posting. I went to typing classes a few years ago and have gone from 20 to30 Wpm on this board. I finally have something to type about. Don't worry about grammer either. There is a way to type in Word and then use spell check, copy, then paste in the Crt box. But watch out because sometimes spell check wants to change an expression and then what you are trying to say gets confused. Do a trip report allso.

Mark A. Maricon,

Just to prove that no one is immune... I have taken the liberty of "correcting" Ruffnutz' post:

Ruffnutz wrote:
Markmerine, first off, welcome to the board, bro.

At least one comma was unnecessary. Also, the abbreviation "bro" for "brother" is a bit too colloquial for the purposes of good writing.

Hey, you gotta admit, it was funny... Just a little light-humored ribbing on RHM's part.

"gotta" is not an accepted word in the English language. And I'm pleased to note that Right Hand Man's part is ribbed...presumably for her pleasure?

Keep posting bro, it's all good. And yes, I know many newbies and veterans alike will appreciate to know that Bill's establishment is still top-notch and still going strong! Sportsmans still is and will continue to be the ONLY place I'll stay at in CR.

Ruff, Ruff...please.... "the only place I'll stay at...?" The dangling preposition is redundant and unnecessary.

Markamerinorini, or whatever your handle is... don't let anyone here bug you. I'm sure that Bill and the folks at SL appreciate the compliments and the thanks.

Know this. The Sportsmen's Lodge is the only place I'll stay at also too. :D

Ruffnutz

Gentlemen,

Update regarding the Sportsmens Lodge reservation email problem, it appears to be only in our reservations@sportsmenscr.com box and mainly with Yahoo accounts. We have narrowed the problem to the moving from the our email accounts by our hosting company about 4 1/2 weeks ago to a different/larger server. Our hosting company has been working on the glitch since Saturday, Hope to have it resolved this afternoon.

For the time being please send reservation requests from ALL Yahoo mail account users to the following,

ray@sportsmenscr.com or johanna@sportsmenscr.com

Thanks for your ALL your help!!

Best Regards,

Bill Alexander
