Your call, your choice. Maybe split the trip between the 2. Or just use one and plan on the other next time. You choice may be limited by reservation issues, so get online and get going !!

They both seem great. I like the Presidente but I also like getting out of the gulch. There's a lot of action just down the street from SL with New Fantasy, ZB, Muses, etc. Of course you can get to those places from Presidente but for me it's just nice to be away from the hustle and bustle of the gulch during the day. Some people probably thrive on it.

... normally I've stayed at the Del Rey but this time I am thinking of staying at either the Presidente or Sportsman ...any opinions on which may be better ???

I don't want to come down too hard on your first post, but since you are a repeat visitor to Costa Rica and a 6 month veteran of this board I think its fair to ask you to do a little more research before you post. Did you know there is a separate thread that deals with hotels? In any case, I refer you to the newbies section where your question has been anticipated:

Do’s & Don’ts

Do Read the board and get a basic grasp of what is going on before you begin posting. Yes the information is overwhelming but just about every basic question is answered in the threads.

...What hotel should I stay at? Loaded question as all of the hotels have their pros & cons. It really depends on what you are going there for, how much action, noise and activity you can stand and how close or far you want to be to the action. All of these questions are available with some light reading.
