About 2 weeks ago, I rented a car for a week from Economy, with a good result. My girl and I and her K*ds traveled to Turrialba and then on to the Caribbean Coast. We are now disscussing the possiblity of renting one in January to visit her family in Honduras. I am aware of the unrest there and am simply wondering what rental car company policies are about taking a car out of Costa Rica.

I have been told, do not have first hand knowledge, that you CAN NOT take a rental car from CR out of CR.

Would suggest you contact a few rental car companies and confirm or contradict that information.
