If chapu had more posts, I'd say he is definitely for real, but I find it really unusual for someone to be so frank (is that the word?) about sending money to a chica on this board.

but the issue is more complex than it seems in black n white, and if you know how people and I mean local people live in third world countries then you will understand where I am comming from . of course not to diminish or degrade Costa Rica when" I say 3rd World Country" acually it is a 1st world to me . Here in the U.S we have it so good that we forget how people from other parts of the world live. We earn Dollars , they earn Pesos or Colones or what have you. We can afford to take vacations , they can't ,no matter how hard they work.We eat good meals everyday and we throw half of it as left overs , many of them don't know where their next meal is going to come from. Now I don't want to sound like a preacher but that's reality and I don't think $ 200 is a lot of money to most of us . Now this girl whom I call novia is well educated , a family girl who is underemployed like most Costa Ricans are , their economy is devastated by high oil prices and inflation and i don't feel a bit guilty of sending her some money once in a while to help her out.

Chupa, Trust me I have supported many a CR family, I just didn't ask if it was something I should do. Then I found this board and It saved me from my errant ways. Ask Lionking about the particular chica, very persuasive and a total pro when it comes to send money game. It is your money so do what you like, however this will only be the tip of the iceberg I promise.

I don't know how many times you've been to CR, but if it's more than 'a few times', you should realize that...

Many of the chicas there are really excellent actresses (better than many professional actresses in Hollywood in my opinion).

I don't want to go into all of the numerous warnings posted over the past two years regarding long-term relationships with chicas (pro and non-pro),but just be aware how much the odds of a 'successful' relationship are stacked against you.

yes you are absolutely right Ding , what I meant to say is some people and not all people. I have erred in my part , to carry this subject little further is I always look at mongering in a different perspective , for example, the majority of us Gringos never step a foot out of of the Gulch and mingle with the locals to see how the average Tico or Tica live. I did that on my first trip , I befriened cab drivers , prostitutes , street guys , and all you can think off before I met my novia lawyer she is mi amor ahora .

to make the story short, I am a different mongerer from most of you, I like to look at the humanist approach to it also. Most individuals look at it from business like approach, ding dang thank u mam how much$ I owe you now?. But approaching people and getting involved little in their life makes you a better person and a stupid green person as you described me. thank you

It dawned on me that just as we understand these girls are in need of money and see us as a vehicle for that they also completely understand by now that many of us that come would not be coming if we had a harem of suitable gringas waiting for our call. IOW, they realize a lot of us are a little lonely and vulnerable. They know many of us gringos are vulnerable to their attention and affection just as we know they respond to our money. We can use it to play them a little and they can use it to play us a little. It cuts both ways and you never know which side of the blade is sharp or when one or the other is using it to cut.

Really, I'm being a little dramatic to make a point. I believe CR is a great place to make some friends and enjoy oneself. I don't believe in sending a new relationship money- maybe a little if I'm going back again soon but what's the diff between her begging while she has a source of income otherwise and a person on the street begging for a buck? It's fine if they both beg but one is usually not actually starving or in danger of it, yet we frown on the street people. I don't believe any of us should be a steady source of income for a working girl. In my humble opinion it would be more likely low esteem than healthy especially if it were money you actually could use, even needed. There's no way in heck I'd believe I'm the only one she's ever asked, that is sending her money now, or that she'll ask if I say "no".
