I'm relatively new to the "game" and after only making one trip to CR I've been keeping in touch with two Ticas. Both of which I made a connection with while on my trip. I hooked up with both for no dinero, and they've yet to ask me for money. One is a student (20) and the other a single mother of two (29). Today I sent the student a gift basket containing a spanish/english dictionary, rainbow colored post it notes, pens, a lead pencil, eraser and a mini-stapler. These are things she could use at school. And for the single mother, I sent a cd walkman along with spanish/english cd's. I spoke to both these girls about the benefits of learning English and they both were receptive and appreciative of my gifts. I'm going back in November and when i mentioned that i had rsvp'd a room at Presidente, the single mother offered me a place to stay, the student lives with her family.

It definetely feels good helping out other people. And I don't expect anything in return, but I know these two girls won't make me forget my efforts.

For some of you who think that working at BM is taking the easy way out... I'm left scratching my head trying to figure what you mean by "easy."

As far as giving $$$ to the g*rls, only she knows her true motives. But sometimes it becomes clear to the giver the true nature of her requests.

I've only been exposed to these "g*rls" for a short time and I've already heard a lot of stories of "the one working for the whole family" and I can't figure why no one else is working. But I guess a it probably has to do with the lack of jobs and how little these jobs pay. It's incredible how these people can keep up such a good and positive outlook on life. Think about how upset the dumb-b*tch gringas get when they can't get the rsvp/appointment at a restaurant or a day spa.

My friend's mantra: "there all b*tches, so if you're going to marry one, she might as well be hot." I phoned him the other day and told him about my experience and I said to him, "if i'm going to get married, she has to be attractive and with a good heart, but i will not marry a b*tch, I'll marry a Tica first. I hate B*tches!!!

YOu all should thank the Gods for CR!! It's Heaven... and I love it!!

Do whatever makes you feel good and you're comfortable with. Just keep your guard up that you're not being taken advantage of and protect yourself from a broken heart.

Where did you meet nonworking girls? I'd be all for hooking up and enjoying the company of a NWG.

Hey TP, You have put a lot of thought into what you wrote. You say that you are a newbie as was I just a little over a year ago but since then I have mad 7 trips to CR 2 trips to TJ and 4 trips to Rio so as far as myself being a newbie I think that I’m past that point now. But at no means does that make me an expert. I’m not sure as to how much time you spent with either girl or how much you speak Spanish but the only way you will know what their true intentions are is to spend more time with them. I had a similar situation as you and it took three trips to CR for me to figure it out. As for you I would ride the wave and see what happens and do what makes you feel good.

ski, you're right. from what i gather it seems everyone at one time or another has been through the same situation. I'm 37 and I enjoy the company of g*rls half my age... the g*rls I grew up with are phat and don't care about their looks anymore; triple chins, pot bellies, and wide crappers... it's not for me. And I'm definitely not into g*rls with k*ds. With that said, I don't know what it is about the 29 yo Tica i met, but we really made a connection. We talk on the phone everyday for hours. She has invited me to meet her family over the xmas/new years eve holiday. She has two k*ds, 5 & 9, and I don't really want any part of it, but something about this Tica makes me want to overlook that fact. The 20yo Tica and i talk every few days, she emails me as well. She is so frickin' HOT!! I am fluent in Spanish, but something about this Tica's dialact gets me excited every time we talk on the phone. Both girls have expressed interest in applying for visa/passport to visit me in the States next year, around their respected birthdays. I'm going to keep riding the wave see what happens... no one has asked me for money, yet. We'll see.
I can't wait to get back to CR!!
