Steve,

It was great having breakfast with you at the News Cafe...thanks for the local knowledge and perspective. Yeah, I made it home quite smoothly,

life is back to "normal," I forgot to shave or brush my teeth today, and I'm hearing Shakira and Reggaeton in my dreams. I heard my overweight Mexican neighbor lady telling her toddler something and I sprung wood. I actually called my "significant other" "Mi Amor."

That about sum it up for ya, buddy?

:(

Seriously, it's not all that bad. I now call disagreeable female acquaintances "gringa," rather thann.

:D

El Ciego My Amigo,
With reference to your rule#5 below......There are many Ticos that may take umbrage at your taking their sisters' or cousins' out of the game.

5. Thou shalt not ask a local tico acquaintance to set you up with his a.) sister b.) cousin c.) Mom

Being a newbie, albeit an older model, I had never come across this thread before even after much reading. Great thread, thanks for refreshing it and moving it to the top.

Though shalt live out at least one new fantasy each time in CR (or, create a new one).

Impossible, at least for me anyway. In all of my visits to CR, I've averaged between three to four hours sleep per night. There's always just too many people to see and too much to do! Of course, after six or seven days, you tend to 'hit the wall' and 'crash'. The human body can only take so much, and the older you are, the less tolerance the body has for 'abuse'.

Yeah, man...I know what you mean. Maybe Commandment #8 was just wishful thinking.

I averaged 4 hours per 24 sleeping, and I got sick/hit the wall after one week. It took 48 hours, 18 of which were spent asleep, to recover. Then the 4/24 schedule resumed...

By the end of my 24 days in Costa Rica, I was accustomed to 5-1/2 hours per night as a workable and healthy schedule, but I don't think I was as sharp as I might have been had I more and better sleep.

 Post subject: Street Areas?
PostPosted: Tue Sep 27, 2005 11:48 am
I was wondering if San Jose has an area like in TJ where the "b" grade gals hang out. I have always enjoyed walking through the area and window shopping. (I started to partake once in my early days; but when I saw the area to preform I didn't feel comfortable and left)

I would enjoy a stroll through such an area in SJ...... than again maybe they are all housed in the BM/KL.

See RBC100's list of Massage parlors and Tico bars in the 'Massage parlor etc.' section. There are a LOT of places to go for the less-than-highest-priced girls. But as anyone who knows anything will tell you, stay away from the street 'girls.' There's no real reason for a girl to work the streets in San Jose unless she is und***ge, a ripoff, or not a girl.

I was poking around and came upon this thread. Thought is was good so I bumped it.

Also, here is a link to another thread by El Ciego, "Poverty, Prostitution and Perversion and a suggested Gentleman".

https://costaricaticas.com/phpBB2/viewto ... sc&start=0

It is in the VIP section so non-members may not be able to access it  .

Just some good reading. Enjoy!
