I am not sure I understand what the difference is between CR and TJ. From the reports it seems the prices and the girls are about the same.

I know the going rate in TJ is 40-60. It seems that many girls want 100 (cien) in CR. Maybe the (cien) is for TLN.

I am from San Diego and have visited TJ routinely. Yes, you can get girls in TJ for $40-60 but you don't nearly get the service that you do here. Also, you have the constant hassles of timing and people knockig on the door plus paying for towels, etc in TJ. The MPs here in CR offer full service for the $40 with no extra charges for other items. Maybe a minor tip here and there. The quality of girls in CR is much better and it is a much cleaner environment to monger in. Strip clubs here may charge $10 for three dances totally nude with touching allowed. In TJ, normally $20-30 for three songs and not nearly as friendly.

The Cien is the starting point. The MPs are much cheaper and much more bang for the bucks than TJ.

The biggest distraction is the distance that you have to travel to CR depending on where you live. I would take the ambience of CR over the lack of ambience of TJ anytime.

Costa Rican women are unattractive and awful in bed. Weather is horrible and the roads are crappy. Don't waste your time flying to Costa Rica and stay in TJ.

In your original question, you asked the difference between CR and TJ.
First off, Costa Rica is a country and TJ is a border town. After that, there are major differences; The people are more friendly, the cost is less and the county itself is one of the most beautiful in the world. Costa Rica is a developing country while Mexico (in my opinion) is truly a third world country. Costa Rica has one of the highest literacy rates in Central America and its infastructure is envied by isurrounding countrys.

I don't believe the question was about the country and literacy that he was seeking information on. The mongering scene is what he wants to know about. Everyone here knows that CR is a country and that TJ is a city.

Though I hope I don't come across the wrong way... another difference between CR and TJ is the class and quality of monger that frequents it. in TJ, it's easily accessible to U.S. citizens (I'll add Juarez there as well, as I lived in 'Hell Paso' for three years and know the place well.) You get all kinds of strange and shady people going to TJ to quench all kinds of deviancies.

CR, though there is a motley bunch here and you get a little of everything, the general crowd there seem to be of better class and social level to some degree, better to do in life, etc etc. It obviously costs more to get to CR, and involves a definite need of funds for hotel, food, etc etc (the usual travel costs incurred in a vacation), and so the 'accessibility' of enjoying Costa Rica becomes restricted to a more limited crowd of people, than, say, the easy access for anyone of a quick drive across the border from San Diego or L.A, etc etc...

Look at a more extreme but more evident example. Compare the average guys that frequent the back-alley NYC street hooker scene and compare them to the average guys that we see frequenting the ZB, or Sportsman's or BM/KL... Which crowd would you feel more comfortable among? That's something to think about when comparing the two places.

100% true.

TJ is awful, awful, awful and don't forget your 40 to 60 in TJ (usually 60) is for a half hour, plus 11 for the room, plus a buck for the guy to clean the room, plus a buck for the extra towel (total is 73). At the end of the half hour, they knock on your door endlessly to get you out of there so it turns out to be a very stressful event that should actually be a joy.

It is a lot more dangerous in TJ as well. Many guys have told me about an off duty policeman and his friends holding up Americans moments after they get out of the cab to go back across the border. It really isn't safe in Mexico - you are a target from the time you step across the border. They have the crosshairs on you at all times just waiting for you to let your guard down.

From my experience, the mongers in CR are generally more easy-going and will watch your back when necessary.

I've been to CR 4 times. I just came back from San Diego and went to TJ. to check it out. The first night I setup to meet a girl from the internet. The girl was young and a total GFE. The cost was higher than CR and I had to pay for the cab and hotel room. The next 2 nights I went to a club. The girls were gorgeous. I had a BBBJ and FS in the VIP area. That cost was less than CR. I went to a MP, that cost was higher than CR. CR is the ultimate place to hunt for Ticas. Ther are a lot of chicas from other countries that look like indians. I try to stay w/ the local girls. The girls in Mexico from spain are great looking. All in all, I had a great time in TJ even though it cost more. However, I'm going back to CR in November.

As a southern Californian I have been to TJ on average once a week for a couple of years. I have been to CR twice the first time in 1982 and this last labor day. The quality of GFE experiance I found on 4 seperate occasions in CR in 10 days was roughly the equal of the four total GFE experiances in 2 years in TJ. I have had 3 medium term relationships in TJ (3-6 month).
I thought enough about CR that I'm returning for the Thanksgiving week and can't wait. The norm in TJ is 30 min suck, Phuck, quick clean and return to bar. With a little work I found very attractive (I'm very picky) girls 19-23YO
who readily accepted dinner drink and dancing offers and provided wonderfull
TLN experiances and 2 of the girls almost begged to stay for another day. The second one I would have except I'd already made a date to repeat with the first. Put that with the ZB lineup and service and CR wins hands down in my book.
