MY my...a couple days off the board and look at all the ruffled feathers

One parting thought for this thread based on an editorial in todays AMcostarica.com ...

Another problem I have is seeing signs upon entering Costa Rica and on the customs form talking about Ch*ld sexual molestation.
The problem with this is that 99 percent of those entering the country would not think of having sex with a Ch*ld, and those that do would disregard any warning anyhow. This to me hurts the image of Costa Rica because it almost gives one the image that sex with minors by tourists is prevalent which would mean the parents of the minors must be approving.
Personally I believe this whole issue is being over publicized by the religious zealots and sensational media. And I do think the over hype on warnings by the govt on underaged sex really does little to limit it. The few people who have this glitch and lifestyle are not going to change their behavior because of this campaign because this is a disease that "cant be cured"...only controlled by chemicals and/or castration. Meanwhile I think may innocent minds including Ch*ldren coming in and out of customs are confronted with a proposition they never considered before. In the old days these issues were discussed in hushed tones and with sense of shame. Now you see the problem advertised on customs forms, in the airport, on billboards, and nightly media. Could be overload of stimuli for those sickies so inclined.
