Just read that Delta is cutting domestic and increasing international flights to Latin America, seems the profit is higher on international flights.

Haven't seen details yet or if CR is included.

Goal,
I would hold off on buying your CR tickets on Delta. They will be filing for bankruptcy protection in the next 4 weeks. Analysts are saying there's almost no way to avoid it. They must file before Oct 15th because new bankruptcy laws go into effect that day.

It is still possible that they will continue operations (like USAir did) while in bankruptcy, in hopes of emerging from it, but I wouldn't chance it. You may lose your $$$. Plus, do you really want to fly an airlines that desperately cutting costs (hopefully they're not cutting any corners)?

Aw, that's just ph*cking great. I've got reservations on Delta (1st Class) to Las Vegas in November. It cost me 90,000 frequent flyer miles for 2 tickets. Mi esposa will be pissed if this trip falls through. She loves Las Vegas almost as much as I love CR. (ALMOST)!

Orange,
Let us know if you get any more current info on Delta.

Thanks,

Mikey B.

While I agree "anal"ists have their own agenda most of the time, but I have heard from several independent research firms that Delta will almost definitely have to file for bankruptcy protection because they are about $300 million short on cash to meet their obligations for the end of the year.

Delta is on life support. Here's a story: http://msnbc.msn.com/id/9310662/

That doesn't mean they will definitely shut down. It's possible they will continue flights while they try to come out of it. USAir did it.

Sorry to say but it looks like the anal-ysts were correct. Delta filed for bankruptcy on Wednesday. (Oh, and so did Northwest, but I don't think they fly to CR.) Oil prices are crippling the industry. I have a feeling that pretty soon our trips to CR will become fewer and/or farther in between.

Don't worry if you booked a flight on Delta. It looks like they will continue with operations and honor frequent flyer miles while in bankruptcy, according to reports.

US Airways still has some good prices out of Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood Intl
airport. I found a fare for usd 217.65 round trip inclusive of taxes leaving Friday October 5th and returning Monday October 7th. Go to Travelocity.com and do a search using flexible dates.
