Hey all,

Will be arriving 9/9/05 for a few days at the SPortsmans Lodge. I have read some older reviews of IDEM on another board which was redone a short time ago and all the old info is gone. Anyway I want to visit IDEM and obviously need a cab to go there from the SL. Is it still about 18k at IDEM for an hour?

Also from what I can tell The SL is only a couple of blocks away from the New Fantasy and ZB but is that area safe to walk solo during the day?

Idem is about 8 or 9 blocks from The Sportsmen's. I always stay at The Hotel Castillo which is fairly close to The Sportsmen's and I always walked to Idem, and yes, it is a safe walk during the day. At night it is a little riskier and you may want to take a cab, although I never did.

If my memory serves me correctly, the cost at Idem was 19,000 colones for a one hour session when I was there in August. I recommend that you bring your own condom since I believe they will charge you an additional 1,000 colones if they must supply you with one of their's.

Yes, it is safe to walk from The Sportsmen's to New Fantasy and Zona Blue during the day, and in my opinion, also at night, although others I'm sure, will have differing opinions on this.

Current cost at Idem is 20,000 for an upstairs room and 23,000 for the downstairs rooms.
