YO to all who may care:

May not be the proper place to post but what the hell.

What is unfolding in New Orleans, the state and in Misssissippi is a horrible situation of human suffering, loss of lives and property. On a scale that has not been equaled in this country.

I feel uneasy as I'm headed to CR in another day or so. If not for a couple of long time amigos going with me I would have canceled. it's difficult to go on a trip with numerous lumps in one's throat....along with the tears. I do plan on returning early and assisting in some of the relief efforts now going on.

I know there are those of you that are not religious but for the ones that are I hope you say a prayer and perhaps even more...... you might save a few dollars of your pleasure and send to aid fellow americans in dire need.

This will not only be a direct disaster but will effect the entire country's economy and may also spread disease in ways we have never experienced. THIS IS SERIOUS.

Enough from this old fart. Please respond in aid as best you can.

Sincerely, Circus and Circus the younger.

Circus,

Thank you for that very poignant and heartfelt post.

As one who lived in very south Dade County during Hurricane Andrew and lived thru that experience I thought I had seen it all. However, seeing the pictures of the devastation in LA. & MS. on television I realize it is far worse than what I experienced.

If you you saw the man in total shock describe on CNN how he and his family sought refuge on the roof and his wife was swept away telling him to save the K*ds and grand Ch*ldren and then seeing the reporter ask him what was he going to do. His reply, I do not know what to do, where to go.

Amigos your dollars and prayers are desperately needed. Please help.

Admin 1.

You can always donate to the Red Cross. No need for them to set up a separate fund.

Do not wait. The need is now.

Repeating a post I made in the girl review section.
Pacoloco:
Thank you for your concern. I am not underwater and I am under a roof. That is more than many people I know can say. Many times I have said I love visiting Costa Rica but would never live there because I liked where I lived. On another thread I made the comment that things never stay the same there constantly changing and we shouldn't fight it. That one has come back to bite me in a very big way. The world I loved is changed forever.

From what I understand tomorrow were going to start evacuating everyone yes everyone from New Orleans. Guys there is just no way you could believe what this is like. There are at least 400,000 people who will never see their homes again. There world has simply been washed away. If you have ever been to Biloxi saved any pictures you may have taken because they are now unique. Some casinos are setting on Highway 90.

If any of you are into religion say a prayer are two tonight for the people in Southeast Louisiana and the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Unbelievably here in the world's greatest country they will be people who will be spending a second night on the roof of their submerged home.

Lee

As an up date: by morning it will be worse. Orleans Parish and Jefferson Parish has lost another levy. There could be 8 more feet of water in the CBD by sunrise.

I posted a bit back about having a gringa provider near me.
She, her family, and countless others had to be evacuated due to a recent chemical spill. She asked me if I could help with her hotel bill, cause she didn't want to subject her K*ds to the shelter,, and I said no, I need this money for something I am obligated to..my trip to CR...What the hell was I thinking?!!!
15 minutes later, she had the money. And I will help her out as she needs it.

I just want to have you think about what you have, and what they don't or can't. Life can be a bitch, please help someone live a little easier if you can.

looting:

Some of what you see is sanctioned by the police. No no one said they can have a 27 inch TV. But many of these people not only do not have a home to go to but literally do not have food to eat or water to drink. And there's not much hope of getting any to them. In that situation you take what you can get. No it's not pretty but sometimes you just have to do what you have to do.

I always end my messages with do not send money. This time I will forgive you.

YO:

Lee, I do not condone it but I would forgive those who take food and water to survive, hell, a person has to live. It's when they rob neighbors and others who need it as much....when I have a problem. ....or when they take things not required to sustain life. By and large, it's survival. I just have a problem seeing a lot of gleeful faces laughing......mostly the coverage does not have that but there have been segments. This is a serious situation.

My thanks to those who posted. There are so many sad stories unveiled already and with many more to come. Yes, Ding D, I could not help but almost lose it when the poor man lost his wife. I have friends in N.O. as probably some on here have also but no way to contact them.

Fellows, this is going to get even worse. It will be the demise of a major metro city for several years not to mention the loss of historic treasures. Not to get morbid but there could be many caskets from the old cemetaries, even though in vaults, floating about , some not intact and not to mention the left over remains. I only mention that to identify the true horror eventually to be exposed.

God help the stranded victums and the already deceased.

I didn't ever think I would see the day where the people of the Miss. gulf coast would think that there was anything worse than Camille, but it has happened.

My wife and I have made the drive from New Orleans through Pascagula several times (US 90), and it is one of our favorite places in the world.

I remembered reading where many people died having a hurricane parth in the Richileau (sp?) apts (Biloxi of Gulfport during Camille), and figured that would never happen again, and low and behold it didi happen again.

I can't help but be angered, but to who? The National Weather service was right on, on the location and probably catagory. I know, because I went to weather websites several times a day. From day one, after Katrina passed over Florida, the NWS showed a slowing down, a northwest curve, then a northern path right to the New Orleans area. About 4 days before the impact, it did indicate the Florida panhandle area, but once the models agreed, about 3 days before landfall, New Orlens was in the sites. We all know the east side of a hurricane is the bad side.............the people knew, but we still will have hundreds of people die. Not talking about disease and deaths after the fact, but deaths due to the storm. Katrina was forecast as a cat.4or 5 strom all along.

It's all really very sad. Like Circus indicated, ti will be years, decades before things are back to normal.

My wife and I had a trip to Biloxi, New Orleans planned just 2 weeks ago, but had some major plumbing problems pop up and could not leave town with those problems. Had I know this would happen, I would have said to hell with the plumbing and made a sad farewell tour of one of our favorite places.

My prayers go out to all involved in both the destruction and the rebuilding of ths wonderful area.

I posted this in a different thread, but it seems to be more applicable under this thread.

To all those affected by Katrina,

Keep the faith all. At this time, I know it's probably hard to believe, but it will get better. It's going to take time, and lots of time, but it will get better.

I've spent the last 17 of my 42 years in Florida, so I've seen many bad storms and hurricanes. Hurricane Andrew (1992) was real bad, but time healed wounds. In 1995, Hurricanes Erin & Opal did major damage in Central and North Florida, but we re-built. In 1999, Hurricanes Irene and Floyd did some substantial damage, but all was re-built. Last year, all 4 hurricanes (Charley, Ivan, Frances and Jeanne) were bad, but we're all still re-building, and the wounds are healing.

The poor people in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and North Florida just got hammered with an un-fathomable hurricane. All of our thoughts and prayers go out to all the people and their families who have lost everything. I mentioned (above) several bad storms / hurricanes that have affected Florida over the years, but none of these came (even remotely) close to what is happening, as we speak, in those storm hit states from Katrina.

It will take time, probably years, to re-build from Katrina, but I know that many people will step up, and it will happen. Unfortunately, it will probably never be the same as it was. Much great history has been lost, and that can not be replaced. Like CIRCUS mentioned, the human suffering, loss of lives and property has not been equaled in this country.
In 2001, 9/11 was horriffic, but the wounds, little by little, are starting to heal, and the city is still re-building. But as we all know, it will never be the same.

We CRT brothers are a different breed than many, with our un-ending search for the intimate company of those lovely, Latina kittens. But when you see the devastation that has occurred from Katrina, it really brings your feet back down to the ground. It makes us all realize what's truly important in life. Say a prayer, light a candle, send a donation, whatever you can do. Right now, every little bit will help.

Circus, thanks for starting this thread. We, as a fraternal organization, must stand together on this one.

Like my 1st line says......Keep the faith guys. We're all with you.....

Buena Suerte All,

Mikey B.
