ISG been down the last couple days. It has a good C.R. thread.

Here I am thinking the last Admin is sick or has passed.

I feel like this website could go off the internet any day now.

I hate to lose the data on the site as some of it is helpful. Hopefully an admin chimes in and lets us know what is going on (or not). I am not sure the admin is actually reading the posts at this point. I assume by ISG that is the international sex guide? I am not a member. I have a few that I am members of, but they are not as focused on CR as this one has been in the past.

ISG goes offline regularly. I think it's a frequent target of DDoS attacks. The admin over there has hinted at that. Here I think the Admin has just stopped managing the site. TotM hasn't been updated since April. People have reported no response regarding new CRT cards. The forums went offline for a weekend week before last.

The last time that "The Admin" shows as being logged-in, according to the system, was Sept 6. That is when it came back up after being down all weekend. So I am assuming that "The Admin" brought it back up? But it does not appear that he has been back online since - at least not as "The Admin". I hope that he is not incapacitated or worse.

Yes. ISG has helped me considerably for 20 years with other countries.

ISG/USAsexguide Admin is currently upgrading the server to improve reliability and ward off DDOS attacks more easily.

Yet another week gone by with no response from admins.

Not sure what he/she may be looking at in order to respond. In this, for some of you that have been around for a little while, do you know who actually started this site? Did they pass it on to someone? I figured it may have been someone from The Sportsman Lodge since it is so significantly advertised, etc. on this site.

It was started around 2002, and I've met the guy that said he set it up, but he is not involved at all anymore and probably has no knowledge of what is going on now. There used to be a group of owners, but that probably has changed now. All my communication over the years was with Alex, an admin, but I don't know who he is in real life.

When you look at the numbers at some time there has been a bit of money in it... over 45000 members, and I would assume most of those had lifetime memberships. And with costs of operation over 25 years its not necessarily a great money maker, but also had a number of paid advertisers at times. So who knows. But it also has been the subject of some interest to powers that be and some potential liability there, so who knows the balance, and what is or is not happening.

A guy who's handle was the Gamblingman started this website. We used to have to pay $29 or $39 a year to be a member. Then the Gamblingman started selling lifetime memberships for $99. Most of the guys paid this including me. So he made triple the revenue for a year or two and then he recieved much less revenue and he said he lost interest in it and wanted to sell it. Bill (RIP) wanted to keep it going because most of the guys that read this stayed there. So I believe he and some other partners paid for it from the Gamblingman. I have no idea the price. At that time Sportman's Lodge was usually full nd it was hard to get a room
Before CRT there was a website called Travel and the Single man. It focused on one guys travels to Costa Rica and Cartagena. He was paying $25 for girls in Cartagena. This was about 1997-2000 before the website went down.

I got my card, but that was over 2 years ago. The person I sent an inquiry to at the time responded. The last time Tica of the Month was posted was back in April, so this is surely not a good indication. ISG can be a good resource. The biggest downfall of ISG is that it is using forum software that is over 20 years old, and there does not appear to be an SSL cert on the site. Make sure you use a unique password on ISG for this reason.

Hook Up Travels is another site, but I have not used it much.

I also will post a few links to other places below, but I cannot attest that they will meet your "needs." I won't get into any names, but there is an old gentleman on ECCIE who spends much of his time on Caribbean islands and is quite knowledgeable about chasing tail in LatAm. Last time I checked he was still alive because he posts about politics.

Honestly what is really needed is a well designed global site, with modern technology. There are legal considerations for hosting, but I firmly believe there is sufficient supply and demand to keep such a site profitable. However, such a venture would be predominantly contingent on people behaving honestly more often that not, which isn't easy to come by. P411 is still operational despite the fact that membership numbers are way down, but unfortunately that's an example of an ad site only, and not a community forum.
