Would be great if it was that easy. They have been having issues for a long time. For fuel, most airlines buy large reserves on their fuel so they are not as impacted by fluctuations in the oil market. So, for the short term they are okay (they still raise their prices as they can and want to hedge a little in case this is a long term issue). That does not help the airline that does not buy well or buy timely…

I did not fly on Spirit much but had one trip to Medellin from Fort Lauderdale and another to CR.

I liked the "big front seat". Not first class but at least away from the smelly cheap ass passengers wearing open toe sandals with smelly toe fungus LOL.

Yes the real truth. A long with the real cause of inflation. Biden so much damage in 4 freaking years. .

It was a victory! Airline mergers/acquisitions result in less competition and ultimately fewer flights and higher fares. I still remember the Southwest/AirTran acquisition. Complete F-ing disaster! To this day, I have way fewer options and much higher fares in my region because of the acquisition.

I wanted Spirit to succeed, but after two bankruptcies they just failed. If JetBlue merged with Spirit, that wouldn't solve their operational and financial problems. You can't take sh!t and mix it with OJ and expect it to taste good. And yes, you get the same result if the airline goes bankrupt, but I would much rather not bring down JB.

I remember when Delta bought Northwest Airlines. As a Continental Airlines flier I hated that. Then United bought Continental. And that sucked too. But, it is better than bankruptcy and dissolution for sure.

Put my two cents worth this is just the beginning. I can see frontier being the next one to go. Maybe American will take them over
