TACA is having their "It's almost end of summer sale"

From-To-Fare (USD)
Los Angeles-Guatemala City-$412
Los Angeles-Managua-$530
Los Angeles-San Salvador-$503
Miami-Managua-$539
Miami-San Jose, CR-$308
New York-San Jose, CR-$505
San Francisco-San Salvador-$522
Washington-San Salvador-$535

Are these going to entice anybody? I think not! Where are the savings? I am paying $351 on TACA for October through travelocity.

Seems to be cheaper to book Taca through Orbitz.

My only experience with TACA was 2 1/2 years ago and they lost my luggage and most eveyone else's. Thankfully, it was on the return flight.

This was LAX-SJO. Did you book that from the TACA site?

In my dealings with Taca, timing is everything. Their prices change all the time. In the past, I have had good deals with Orbitz. When I booked my upcomming trip, the Taca site had the best deal. Now, who knows?

Scuba I'm feeling you bro, US air rules out of FLL. Labor day trip cost me $176.00, I'll being coming back to SJO in Oct. for $206.00. It must suck to live anywhere else. On the TACA thing, I fly them frequently when my destination can't be gotten out of FLL so i have to go to MIA(sucks) TACA flights have always been good for me, no bad experiences at all.

I always fly TACA and have not had any problems with luggage or timing. The only time I had a problem, a flight was delayed out of San Salvador (airport problem) so it got to San Francisco late, and that caused missed conections later. They rerouted whoever they could on other airlines to get them to their destination as quickly as possible. They wanted to put me on an American Airlines flight but I know that I would miss my connections either way so I figured I'd rather get hung up in SJ and stayed on the flight. The ones that stayed on the flight had breakfast waiting when we arrived in San Salvador. I was going to Bogota but missed the connecting flight in San Jose, so they put me up for the night, and gave me a voucher for free meals at the hotel, a nice place.

I find that their service is better than most of the US airlines I use, their stews much better looking, and their planes modern. I also sense that their employees take lots of pride in their jobs, they want to show that they are a class act. On one flight I met a cutie from San Salvador that was going to SJ, she was an accountant for TACA, and her pride in the company was very apparent. I also don't mind paying for a sandwich when the beers are free.

The only thing that used to leave me unsettled was that all announcements are in spanish first, english second. I always felt that if the spanish announcement had everyone screaming and shouting "Dios mio", I really didn't need to hear the english anyway.

I found a cheap flight with Taca on Travelocity in October using their flexible date search. LAX/SJO USD 343.15 round trip inclusive of taxes.

October and the first two weeks are the lowest seasons for Taca. You can get some great deals during this time.
