I'm coming back in a month (it's been about 4-5 years). I haven't been following CR like I did before so I need suggestions. I'm looking for a hotel that's chica friendly but in the moderate price range.

Hotel Little Havana used to have nice rooms for cheap.

La Amistad now has rooms starting at $40 a night. Pura Vida Dream (the old Don Carlos Hotel) is about the same rate. If you like to drink and eat nice meals the all-inclusive at Castillo makes it a very moderately priced option.

Wow I didn't know Amistad is that price now. I shall try it out sometime. But I stayed a night at the Whiskey Barrel which is across the street from Hotel Castillo and in between Sportsman and Taormina. I only paid $40 for my room and it was worth it. It was beautiful, chica friendly and I highly recommend going there.
